Shocked Newcastle Fans Take To Twitter This Morning After Another Defeat

Newcastle fans are on Twitter this morning after what turned out to be a shocking 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth yesterday.

And that defeat means we have lost 1-0 to teams like Huddersfield, Brighton, Burnley, and Bournemouth – that’s not good – especially yesterday when we were at home to the Cherries.

But we are still in 11th place in the league and 6 points above the relegation zone and only one point out of 8th place so we are still fairly well positioned in the league.

We would definitely take 8th place in the league come next May.

However, the December schedule looks very tough for us so we had better improve in all areas quickly – something that Rafa keeps telling his players.

Steve Cook – heads in winner yesterday

Here are some of the various comments from disappointed Newcastle fans this morning.

We will have to disagree. It is really immaterial what happened in summer to the extent Rafa like all managers from 1 September has to simply get on with it. Thankfully he is and not simply crying over spilt milk.

Edd we have lost more games than we have won and the goal difference is 0. Manure coming up we could soon be in a all to familiar position in the Pl . And again I don’t think we have the personnel to cope.
Resilience is one thing but hoping for anything more than survival is just a pipe dream

‘We have a good team with young players and they are improving. I am positive in terms of what we can achieve.’

You know who said that, a couple games ago.

I think we all thought so, given the results. But each game was touch and go. Now it’s more ‘gone’, our games tend to be that close. It’s inevitable.

BTW, that’s how Rafa SHOULD talk. No use giving the ‘poor me I am great with such average ‘tools’ to work with’ line.

We scored a goal and should have had at least 1 more!
Second half, we lost the initiative and could well have lost 0-3! Lascalles was struggling after first half injury. Was well pissed off, last night, but reality has returned! Poor result, but not quite the end of the world, yet!

Mitro warming up, but Perez/Murphy get the nod?????????????? Surely it was crying out for a big lump and if Rafa wants rid, he needs to put him in the shop window! Murphy’s confidence looks shot. Atsu looked off the pace. Poor old Joselu – can we change his song??? Looks like a rabbit in the headlights wheneverhe sees the goal – maybe the erstwhile East Stand sniper who used to get Saylor in the knackers regularly can hit Joselu in the backside each time he gets a chance! The sudden pain might stop him worrying about missing.

I know you like to be a mysterious whimsical and philosphical poster but your comment on last thread seems to overlook the simple fact Mitro was actually on the bench unlike say Colback. I presume he was there like Darlow – just in case?

MoTD, seeing that lunatic McClean not wearing a poppy, not getting sent off for a wild hack, looking like a complete maniac, fireworks going off everywhere for past 3 weeks, terrified dog being sick, whilst pyromaniacs celebrate terrorism – certainly makes the minutes’ silences etc pointless to me – I joined up as a teenager, as did my father, RIP, WW2 vet- what a weird country we live in.

Anyway I think the Mitro discussion is becoming more and more circuitous and as it is a lovely bright morning time to get out and blow away the cobwebs of yesterdays defeat I think 🙂

Mitro should have actually thrown his bib etc at Rafa and gone down the tunnel, in all honesty. Never been a fan, but the way Rafa is treating him is a complete joke. It really was crying out for physicality – Joselu is weak enough, but Perez is weaker than water. I heard the first real boos and signs Rafa’s going to get some stick. It’s looking like another long, hard winter ahead! 🙁

Just seen the match josule is a load of shit , rafa should have taken lascelles straight off to stop him from more damage to himself, manquillo needs dropping and put mbemba back in his place and for perez and murphy on before mitro begs belief so we finnish off with perez and gayle upfront against 6 foot plus defenders i mean come on rafa tell us what your thing was sorry jail rafa got it wrong again like it or not the fact is he did when interviewed will not give a straight answer,

Read a few of latest comments, but not sure I can face the matchday madness, on here!
Certainly not just me hearing the negative discussions from the Gallowgate, about Rafa’s tactics, then!
And I have wondered about Elliott’s slow distribution – he must be acting on Rafa’s instruction.
It’s becoming robotic, with players afraid to use their brain.

    magscar,
Are you seriously suggesting that the manager not getting the players he realistically wanted has no bearing at all on our lack of goals this season. You honestly don’t think we’d be more of a threat with England international’s Townsend and Abrahams in the side.

Aye, managers do get it wring and this Mitro situation needs addressing. He shot himself in the foot yesterday and made himself look a cnut, shall we turn on him. It took us four seasons and countless 5 and 6 goal defeats before we turned on Pardew, best not cut Rafa any slack though in case he signs an eight year deal. We wouldn’t want that now would we.

Very sensible and rational analysis comment here and I agree entirely. JP…from The Rock Nov 4, 2017 at 5:28 PM

Rafa did try to mix things up with Gayle up top credit for that. He still is a world class manager no matter what this result would have been. We have very average players and he still performs wonders with them. But and it’s a big but, Rafa is way too stubborn on his decisions. Joselu HAS TO BE dropped. Perez should not have come on again today. It should have been Mitro. Manquillo is a very poor defender and Mbemba is twice the player he is. Murphy is seriously lacking confidence or is shite either way he shouldn’t have come on, nor should we have spent 12m on him! So apart for that Rafa is still World Class in my eyes.
    – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Then a hilarious, totally contradictory pot – kettle – black one here below from TOONBROTHER. Oh dear..!

Tsunki tiny minds like yours tend to reach for insults because it requires brain cells to have a
civil debate based on facts. I don’t blame you. I blame your genes and the rare form of stupidity coursing through your veins. Retards like your mom and dad should never have been permitted to breed. You poor soul
    – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Now apparently some joker saying Rafa doesn’t like goals! Funny how we were top scorers by a mile last season.

It doesn’t matter why do you harp on about it. We are where we are. Move on as Rafa has. If only we had got SBR when KK went first time ( instead of loyally staying at Barca) we would have won PL and CL by now and Ashley would never have happened – at least that’s what I expect!

Some murmurings about subs etc does not signal an uprising not by a lomg way. It is internet equivalent of moaning on about match in pub or on way home as it used to be. It isn’t being disloyal or demanding a change to merely debate matters on an NUFC blog. Pitchforks are still in storage.

I’m a little worried now as earlier you said ”takeover or no takeover” Previously you’ve always seemed so sure and you’ve been the hope I’ve been clinging to. Please tell me things are still on track. Ironically dropping from 6th to 1th may reduce ash’s greed in the price. Then again….

I too find eliot holding on to the ball for so long really frustrating. Yet there again if the full backs turn their backs on him and run away it just leads to an inevitable hoof time and again after everyone is marked.

    magscar,
I was moaning about it like everyone else coming out of the ground last night. I’m not saying he’s above criticism but the like of catchy pointing the finger at him for signings that he clearly and realistically wanted better. As for Munster he’s been slating Rafa and his tactics since that first defeat against runaway league leaders yesterday who had we have attacked them more we would have walloped them.

    Morning all

How’s the meltdown coming along? Gonna be a long two weeks!

Some positives, we scored and possibly with a little more composure could have been 2 up by half time. Thought that Joselu Gayle worked ok to a point. We were always in the game. 2 of the bottom 5 got beat, hopefully, 2 more today?

Negatives, again giving the ball away with people committed upfield. If they had more composure……. plan B was a disaster! Subs and there “impact” a concern. How we sort of slowly imploded? We lost shape and discipline, the goal was coming.

Still, 3 points in the next game will improve the mood 🙂

I actually thought Joselu and Gayle worked quite well and Gayle played the best I’ve seen since last season. However I was completely baffled by the substitutions we know Perez and Gayle doesn’t work and Murphy for Atsu was beyond belief. We had no out ball after thidvand were penned back and their goal was inevitable!
