Don’t Accuse This Player Of Not Working Hard – Even Though He Doesn’t Play

Henri Saivet came back from a poor season-long loan at Saint Etienne in the summer, and Newcastle tried to sell him or at least send him out on loan this summer – but there were no takers.

So once September rolled around, he became part of Rafa’s Premier League squad although he has yet to play in the Premier League this season for the Magpies.

Henri played only one game for Newcastle, and that was in the 3-2 loss at home against Nottingham Forest, but he had a good game and certainly worked his socks off for the team.

And there’s news in the Chronicle that Henri is looking good training and he can possibly come into the equation while Mikel Merino is out with his back injury.

Henri Saivet – in training

Henri has made the bench a few times this season, and he may even get some playing time in preference to Mo Diame who hasn’t looked impressive when he’s played for the first team, this season.

Rafa asks only that players give 100% in training and in games and as far as that measurement goes Henri is doing his best at Newcastle.

But he still does not have a future on Tyneside as Rafa will look to bring in better players in January and in the summer.

Henri has been criticized a lot in his time at Newcastle, but at least the man is doing his best in what is a bad situation for him at Newcastle.

He’s played only 5 times for Newcastle, and he cost us £5M – so that shows our previous recruitment team got some things wrong at the club.

We’ll not even mention the previous manager.

    Simon376 – from previous post
It’s our old friends at the Chronicle who are fuelling the rumours or perhaps rehashing them as I doubt there’s much new here that we haven’t already been told about. I would take a very large pinch salt for now. Especially the notion that £500 million is available for transfers – I mean what do they expect of us deluded fans, to support a Champions League Cup winning side a season after winning the domestic treble ?

Fresh takeover speculation was sparked on Sunday by reports in Asia that Amanda Staveley has agreed price for Newcastle United.
Indonesian media outlet Semuanyabola caused a stir with a report claiming that Staveley and her PCP partners have settled on a price of £300 million for the Magpies and hope to have the deal done before December – however club sources have rejected any such development.
Chronicle Live understands that a deal for the club is no further forward than we reported three weeks ago – when Ms Staveley entered due diligence with a view to buying the club.
Nonetheless, the report from Indonesia claims that not only has a price been agreed but also that Rafa Benitez will be handed a transfer budget of up to £500million over the next two windows.
The report states: “Amanda Staveley and PCP Partners are rumored to have taken over Premier League club Newcastle United at £300 million from the original owner, Mike Ashley. The Staveley-led group has been discussing with Mike Ashley after signing an undisclosed deal and has entered its due diligence to assess the club’s finances.
