Newcastle Fans Have Their Say On Aleksandar Mitrovic

Some fans are not sure why Aleksandar Mitrovic has not been given a reasonable opportunity for Newcastle this season, especially since he is still the top (joint) scorer with 2 goals in only 3 appearances and we have trouble scoring goals.

Maybe he’s done something to upset Rafa, such as not following instructions when he plays – or something like that.

But we know from his time at Liverpool that Rafa can be stubborn with a player which he’s being at the moment with local lad Jack Colback.

Rafa was not happy with Colback when he refused to fill in the numbers when we were short of first-team squad players during a training session – anyway, that’s what was reported.

But Rafa also made it clear to Jack in the summer that if he was still on Tyneside he would not be part of his Premier League squad.

With Mitro, it’s not so obvious why he is being given the cold shoulder by the manager.

Here are some comments about Mitro and they seem to have Magpies fans split down the middle.

It’s our old friends at the Chronicle who are fuelling the rumours or perhaps rehashing them as I doubt there’s much new here that we haven’t already been told about. I would take a very large pinch salt for now. Especially the notion that £500 million is available for transfers – I mean what do they expect of us deluded fans, to support a Champions League Cup winning side a season after winning the domestic treble ?

Fresh takeover speculation was sparked on Sunday by reports in Asia that Amanda Staveley has agreed price for Newcastle United.
Indonesian media outlet Semuanyabola caused a stir with a report claiming that Staveley and her PCP partners have settled on a price of £300 million for the Magpies and hope to have the deal done before December – however club sources have rejected any such development.
Chronicle Live understands that a deal for the club is no further forward than we reported three weeks ago – when Ms Staveley entered due diligence with a view to buying the club.
Nonetheless, the report from Indonesia claims that not only has a price been agreed but also that Rafa Benitez will be handed a transfer budget of up to £500million over the next two windows.
The report states: “Amanda Staveley and PCP Partners are rumored to have taken over Premier League club Newcastle United at £300 million from the original owner, Mike Ashley. The Staveley-led group has been discussing with Mike Ashley after signing an undisclosed deal and has entered its due diligence to assess the club’s finances.

Let’s hope this Takeover happens and Mitro will be gone,And these stories can be put to bed.
I agree Mitro should be given a run of games, But the outcome will be the same… He’s simply not good enough to lead the line nor for that matter is Joselu or Perez.
Gayle and Diame could also be sold which will leave us some rebuilding up front.

Southgates excuse for Shelveys absence is that he wants players who can graft and run , Not just players that can pass the ball more than 5 yards. No wonder England are sh@te

Lets put an end to this Mitrovic debate. Right now, Mitro is better than Shearer and even if he’s not Shearer isn’t named in our squad. The same goes for Lukaku. Joselu is named in our squad, and a lot of people are saying Mitrovic is better than him – that’s all. Nobody is claiming he’s brilliant, just that if our system needs a target man, then he is the best one we’ve got and while he’s not going to get 30 a season he will get a few. I personally think Gayle is (just about) our best bet to score goals, although Rafa (for good reason) doesn’t seem keen on playing four little guys as his attackers so this leads us back to Mitrovic. He seems like the only option right now.

I really think mitro need a few games in a row to give him a far chance coming on as a sub or playing one game then been dropped is no away to judge the player hes need a run of games to get up to speed then if he fail far enough but for the like of gayle who was ok in the championship but he not a premiership player then you have perez i can hold on to a ball longer then him yes he runs about but who cant then you have josule who was a waste of 5 million when we have mitro them we get manquillo from mackem land when we have mbemba who is now frozen out now and clarke is frozen out too now because lejeune is in and 12 million for murphy wasted too so as you can see rafa plays most of his signings or spanish players and before anybody say out, iam not after rafas blood its just a fact so merino for perez mitro for josule and mbemem for manquillo and maybe clarke another chance am i wrong,no doubt some will say iam but just what i see.
