The questions for the Newcastle team selection for tomorrow will be who plays up front and who comes in for the injured captain Jamaal Lascelles.
We have not been very good at scoring goals in the last three games having only scored once, and we are against the best defense in the Premier league tomorrow at Old Trafford.
Manchester United have only conceded 5 goals in their 11 games so far, and they have yet to concede at home in the league.
So it could well be a defensive test for Newcastle tomorrow, and we’re sure Rafa has had the lads looking closely at the game plan.
Ciaran Clark – expected to get start tomorrow
Ciaran Clark should come in at center-back and could even captain the side tomorrow in Jamaal’s absence.
Here’s a possible Newcastle starting eleven.
Elliot
Yedlin Lejeune Clark (c) Manquillo
Hayden Shelvey
Ritchie Perez Murphy
Gayle
We’re not sure Rafa will play the young and inexperienced Murphy out on the wing, but he’s the next in line – although Rafa may give Rolando Aarons a chance?
Whenever Rolando seems to play for the first team he does well.
Perez is likely to play in the number 10 spot if only for his work rate in a game where every player will have some defensive duties to perform.
It may also be a risk putting Dwight Gayle up front since when we do get the ball, we will need to hold it up and keep it – and that could be a reason why Rafa keeps Joselu in the lineup.
What would your Newcastle team be for tomorrow?
Comments welcome.

Comment #1I don’t get how people like Hail Wor Ashley who don’t post at all during the week then come on here to post vitriol in the only 90 minutes that they get a chance to watch us. Surely you’d want to spend that 90 minutes concentrating on the football rather than looking at your keypad.

Gayle to run around Old Trafford all evening
with hardly a sniff of the ball.

Comment #3I don’t get Posada either, he was very anti Ashley, then anti Benitez and pro Ashley. Now he claims to know someone at the club who has let slip that the Stavely/PCP is a huge conspiracy. I used to enjoy Posadas post, now I think he’s just full of shite!

Comment #6Interesting game down the road at the Village of the Damned
Millwall have yet to win away this season, while Sunderland
haven’t won at the Stadium of Light since last December.
Something has to give
If Sunderland cannot win this one then it’s goodnight I fear

You may well be right with (the lovechild) Perez on the wing and Gayle / Joselu up front in a 442, building on the last game. There is only one other player worth a mention, Diame has retired from Internationals and should have been training hard with the team and he could be positioned at #10, with Perez out wide and Gayle (more likely) / Joselu up front.

There’s no need to be rude. If I still had feelings I could be really hurt by that sort of thing.
I have never claimed to have a contact at the club.
Getting someone to act as a Stalking Horse would not be a huge conspiracy. It would simply be a tactic deployed by the owner. As far as I know it is legal.
If you want to sell why would you not try it.

Comment #11Not that it matters as it’s only Moanrino trying to play games with Rafa.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba return to the Manchester United squad for Saturday’s Premier League game against Newcastle at Old Trafford.
Striker Ibrahimovic, 36, is yet to play this season after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury in April.
Midfielder Pogba, 24, has not played since injuring a hamstring against Basel in September.
Defender Marcos Rojo is also available and manager Jose Mourinho said “all three will be selected”.

i don’t think jail is being rude. It’s just you come across as a very depressive sort of character, constantly on a downer. Do you find people tend to make excuses and move away from you in social situations?

Comment #15Don’t think mourinho needs to play mind games with rafa, we aren’t anywhere near a threat to the CL spots or the league. Mourinho has been quoted for some time now saying zlatan will be back in 2017.
I don’t think he’ll play tomorrow and same with pogba but they will have trained this week which means they’ll be in contention.

I don’t think so, I just don’t buy into this St Rafa stuff.
Check out some of my posts they tend to get some support.
Even Jail admits to liking them.
Until my recent views on any potential takeover.
If someone expresses a view that you don’t like you tend to go straight to personal attacks.
That’s alright I realise that you get all types on here.

Comment #17As for the foreign investor, I don’t mind if it is a Chinese consortium, they’ve not had the best track record in the UK but both Milan clubs have recently been bought by Chinese consortiums and they’ve spent some good money. Maybe the tide has changed somewhat.

Comment #18As for the match, unfortunately it has to be joselu upfront, Gayle and Perez or either 1 of them will mean the ball just keeps coming back time and time again. At least joselu can relieve pressure which will be crucial for us to reorganise

Comment #19No Posada I haven’t admitted to liking your posts, I used to like them but since Rafa got here you’ve become a right royal pain in the arse. I don’t think you’re full of shite because it’s not what I want to hear either. I’ve weighed up Sparky and hibbits time on the blog and their input against yours, who like I say was anti Ashley, pro Ashley and now seemingly very anti Benitez, very inconsistent and by the looks of it anti NUFC if that’s possible for a supporter of the club. Also like I said yesterday it is pure theory about a stalking horse. To say someone completed due diligence is either fiction or a fact, not somebodies theory. You’ve poured scorn on anything positive coming out of the club for the last eighteen months why would anyone believe your “stalking horse theory.

I guess that’s for me. If it was just me then feel free to ignore, but I don’t think I’m alone here. You do rather come across as a overly doom and gloom merchant and we don’t need it all the time. Yes Rafa made a couple of ricks with signings, tell me one manager who hasn’t. You make no mention though of the vast majority like Clark, Gayle, Ritchie, Hayden who got us back up at the first attempt after having to sell our 4 best players.
Tomorrow possibly the cheapest squad in the division goes up against a team with 2 players costing early 100M and 75M alone respectively. I think it’s nothing short of a miracle how Rafa has even got us competing at all.
Like with the takeover, you almost seem to take a cringing amount of glee trying to p–s on everyone’s bonfire.
Hibbit,
I love the way you spell definitely as defiantly, it’s almost better that way, has more impact.

It’s a blog.
Yeh I did express some anti Ashley views. Most of us have. A couple of months back I did make the point that he had been let down by some football people and I still feel that is the case. Also, the club has at least had his financial backing and not gone into complete melt down. That’s taking a balanced view of things.
Anti Rafa. Last December I think it was I mentioned that Wagner at Hudderfield was doing relatively better with less resorces.
That caused a stir. Check out todays league table. He still is.

Sparky55 has been posting on here for years without ever being full of shite, after he paid a small fortune for a signed shirt for charity kind of showed that he’s not doing too bad for himself, affluent businessmen tend to know other affluent businessmen in the same area. Sparky told us about a sale going through of some land which Ashley needed to have some major funds for, three days later we were officially up for sale. I tend to believe someone with a detailed knowledge of something rather than someone who has put a downer on any good news at the club over the last eighteen months. Wagner doing better than Benitez meh!

Your enjoying the moment. What are you enjoying. Nothing has happened yet.
We have lost our last 2 games and scored one goal in 3. Ok that’s football and we can take the ups and downs.
But, what exactly is it that is so wonderful.
last night you started the personal attacks. All I did was refer to some information I had and tried to make sense of it, based on what we do know form the media.
Check out the comments you, Jail and Rotonda have made today. Between the three of you you have not expressed one opinion or contributed anything at all to this blog. All you do is make personal attacks on other bloggers.
Go on amaze me. One of you come up with something interesting about NUFC.

When you say ashley was let down by football people, do you mean his drinking buddies wise and JFK.
That was entirely of his own making. RB is the only decent football related ash has made at the club.
If you’re in the conference and just want a bit of a jolly with your mates fair enough jobs for the boys, not when you’re owner of a PL club with 52000 home crowd. No sympathy at all. How JFK survived his foul mouthed press rant is beyond shameful and symptomatic of how the spewing up in fireplaces, classless oaf has spent his involvement with us.
