Rafas’ Injury Update – Fixtures Through New Years Day

Rafa Benitez gave an injury update for Newcastle at his press conference this afternoon, and he said that we will know more about captain Jamaal Lascelles (above) next week, but Christian Atsu (thigh) could be out for a few weeks.

As we heard yesterday, Mikel Merino (back) has returned to Newcastle from Spain to train, and he could even make the home game against Watford a week tomorrow depending on how he does in training and whether the back plays up at all next week.

Maybe it’s just us but why did Christian Atsu join up with the Ghana squad when they were already out of the World Cup, and he trained with them and got injured.

He had been withdrawn from the game against Bournemouth because of a knock – so it seems a little stupid to us.

Paul Dummett is back in training, and the local lad could be ready for Watford and the many games that we play in December through January 1st.

Here are the 11 upcoming games starting at Old Trafford tomorrow and going through New Years Day.

Fifa have given National FA’s very strong powers when it comes to calling up players
Why was it deemed necessary for Mitro to go on a meaningless mini tour of Asia
If the USA hadn’t played their fixtures in Europe ,Yedlin would have been crossing the
Atlantic for a side out of the WC (sorry ED)

Jib right about match day crap though. I’m looking with dread less at us being taught football than I am about encountering some of the numb nutted ilk who populate the blog with their vitriol. How dare we get beaten by a poor man utd side! Should have brought on (insert name of whoever didn’t get brought on here)! Etc…
