Losing three games in a row is not good but when you look at those three games – defeats against Burnley, Bournemouth and Manchester United – we could have taken something out of those games.
But it was poor defending and not taking our chances that were the things that cost us.
That’s an area we have to tighten up on, but there were also many good points to take out of the game yesterday.
It’s not all bad news as we played very well for stretches yesterday against one of the best teams in England.
Here are some typical tweets today.
Agree. If good can come out of it Gayle goes on a goal run murphy gains conf & if we get Merino & JL back hopefully we’ll pick up some results #nufc

Well said. So many doom merchants around this morning: “Three defeats in a row. We face a relegation battle.” Man U havenb’t lost at home for 38 bliddy games. #NUFC forever

Positives from last night – Gayle looked good and took his goal well. Thought Murphy looked promising. Rafa’s tactics spot on. Undone by quality and strength of Man U. Support very good and very pissed. #NUFC

I sense that we are going to be in a relegation battle, especially if we don’t get a goal scorer in Jan & tighten up at the back. #nufc

Still feeling smug? Still heading for a relegation fight, unless our useless owner bales out soon #nufc

Are you still talking about #NUFC? What glory, none since 1969!! Just highs and lows, but always a bloody good day out.

Haven’t got an issue with that today. Had a go, looked decent in spells but ultimately outclassed. Timing of the goals crucial. Onto next week. #nufc

Dunno why so many are going into a massive meltdown after today’s result. You have to remember we are a newly promoted side. Not spent much. They are a team who spend £100+million with ease. Personally thought we did “ok” today #nufc

I miss Mikel Merino so much #NUFC
