When did shearer say his opinion is more important? When did shearer ask ed to put his opinions on this site? All he did was give his opinion out like the rest of us.

    Quit being a baby.

Did I mention that Rob elliot is looked on by other clubs managers as a weak keeper ?

Elliot is a second behind decent top keepers when it comes to reactions ..he just does not have what’s needed at this level. Slow brain. Weak link.

Tbf we all knew we needed to strengthen far more than we did we desperately needed a prolific striker, we’re basically playing with a glorified championship squad and it shows. If we survive it will be a great success.

Online – his opinion is more important than some of the dros we read on here.
You saying he is not aloud an opinion? He bleeds black and white with the best of them.
Do you think we have the right to ask him to stop just because we pay to see them and he was paid to play?
Considering he always wanted to come to us and stayed when we were shite. I think he knows what he’s talking about.
If you owned the toon you would stick with the manager always saying “next game is ours” only to be relegated and say you tried

    Yedlin
    Lascelles
    Clark / Lejeune
    Manquillo
    Shelvey
    Merino
    Ritchie
    Perez
    Atsu
    Joselu

This is the team that before this bad run
off form , drew v Soton and Lpool and beat Palace

Gayle has been given his chance
The sooner Lascelles and Atsu return
the quicker normal service will be resumed

@manxpie, I totally agree if it’s two up top surely mitro has to be worth a decent run along side Gayle. Can’t really see what joselu brings to the team, he can’t hold the ball up, can’t link up play. Can’t see why Rafa persists with him, unless he trains like Messi in training.

Can’t really see more than a few more points perhaps even half a dozen from games coming up til the new year. Bang average championship squad except for merino, especially now teams have found us out

Seen someone blaming Rafa…its Ashley to blame .

    Last Summe’rs window anyone ?

You see its like this .

You have a target in mind ..there’s not enough money to buy him due to penny pinching owner . Ashley’s got form ..before anyone mentions his intention to sell the club as a factor. Iv never forgot how Ashley handled the Luca Modric transfer…and Deli Alli.

Penny pinching and we lost both players. Idiots.

Ashley straps Rafa ..Rafa goes after someone else who might come good ..it’s the cheap option…it’s throwing good money after bad . False economy . Never going to work.

Young Mag. Look at the page before this one ..possibly the last comment on that page I ask Ed…not to put Shearers mug up every day…it seems ..

I think Shearer can become a thorn in the clubs side …much like an ex manager that keeps hanging around the club , interfearing, players and management are aware of his opinions and confidence can be eroded with an ex hi profile Manager/player whinging on nationally that’s what I’m saying. It has to have an effect imo.

Football is a lot about confidence when your at it you know.

I think it’s time we gave Sr. Benitez the golden handshake. It’s time we thanked him for his efforts, but he isn’t being paid to negotiate the terms of surrender to the likes of Watford and Bournemouth. A top flight manager he may be but he isn’t using the resources we have given him wisely.

    Let’s recap –

Two seasons ago we have him a very good handful of games with a proven PL squad and he couldn’t stop us being relegated.

Then last season we spent wisely (after balancing the books with shrewd sales of “Purple” assets who would frankly not be suited to championship football) spending wisely on an extended squad for to negotiate the season. Quite honestly, Sr. Benitez should have done much better than coming first and winning the league, he almost got us relegated again but somehow the fire performance of the entire league propelled us into a false position, also the fact the squad performed well despite his terrible tactical approach.

Finally this season began well after we bolstered his squad considerably and turned the whole thing overnight from a capable Championship Squad into a tough, talented PL one by the shrewd and economically astute addition of millions of pounds of prospective talent and of course the odd hopelessly underestimated journeyman team fillers. After a flying start that can only be attributed to the heady ether of confidence, reality soon set in as the tactical ineptitude congealed.

We cannot idly stand by as Rafa Benitez drags a perfectly capable PL squad packed with stunning talent back down into the second tier again. One failure is enough.

    just got in
Oh dear another lacklustre performance – didn’t look like they were bothered at times – back to our sideways backwards HOOOOFBALL To Gayle – No, No ,No!!!!!

Started Ok carved out a couple of decent chances for Joselu and Gayle but at the same time Watford looked comfortable and made us pay by scoring a easy taken goal.
Teams have sussed us out down our right with Yedlin and Ritchie. Yedlin ok going forward but leaves his winger with acres of space too run at into and Ritchie does not cover Yedlin or the runner form deep down our right and teams are exploiting it as Watford did today.

Fans seemed to be having a go at Manquilla – but where did all their goals come from – down our right – could of easily had half a dozen from that side if Gray had his shooting boots on.

At times today we were palying with 4 centre halfs as Shelvey and Diame were playing so deep only changed when Mitro and Merino came on where we looked a lot better and had more shape.

Rafa has got to get over his stubborness in picking his players and bringing subs on after 60-70 minutes when the game has gone.

watford were the better team in all departments and thourghly deserved their EASY win.
Man in the mask was superb – made the game look easy.

    Here goes my merit marks

Elliot 5 – looks slowwwww and ponderous – maybe time for a change.
Manquilla 6 OK – tried but saddly gets caught
Clark 6 – did Ok but at times was overun at the back
LeJuene 5 – got in some last minute tackles covering for Yedlin but weak in the tackle for such a big unit.
Yedlin 4 – Ok going forward but hopeless at defending – gives the opposition far to much space – sits off the player then dives in leaving himself exposed
Ritchie 4 – Losses his runner at fault for first goal by stopping and sticking his arm up – leavs the opposition runner free to many times – did not get going until Merino and Mitrovich came on.
Diame 4 – gives us absolute nothing when playing to deep as a fourth centre half
Shelvey 5 – some decent balls but again sat to deep so ended up pinging Hollywood balls to often
Murphy 7 – MOM by a mile for the starting 11 least he tried beat his man and got a couple decent crosses in pity about our centre forward
Joselu 4 – OK in possession and movement but weak as water and cannot shoot to save his life – easy knocked off the ball – plays deeper and deeper as the game went on.
Gayle 6 – Did a power of running – missed a great chance early on that he created when got ball stuck between his feet – lost confidence in shooting near the end wanted to many touches.

    Subs
Merino 7 – Along with Mitro – changed the game dropped into defensive midfield which allowed Shelvey to push forward
Mitro 10 – 7 for effort and 3 for being on the bench – linked up well with Shelvey and Gayle – played other players in to shooting positions caused their defence a couple of anxious moments but likeMerino shoulf of started second half.
Perez 6 – again linked up with Gayle and Mitro but all to late.

All-in-All – Thought it was a passionless display with little fight which passed onto the crowd who were quite – outsung-chanted by Watford.
Few empty seats after half time quite a few actually and with ten minutes to go could of mistaken St James’s for the Stadium of Shite – booed of at the end – pity pathetic

This game went from us the moment

I don’t understand, as so many have expressed time and again Rafa has so much talent and squad depth at his disposal. There’s no possible way players like Gamez, Mitrovic, Mbemba etc could be doing so little in training to warrant not being started. It must be down to his irrational, cruel , spiteful nature. That’s it.
