Newcastle After New Target – 24-Year-Old International Center-Back For January

We are hoping that Rafa Benitez will be given some funds to spend in January to strengthen the Newcastle squad otherwise it could be another long and hard Premier League season and another one where we are fighting against relegation.

We never really expected this to be a relegation fighting season under Rafa Benitez but it could turn out that way unless we can start to turn things around quickly.

A win tonight at West Brom is what we need bit another defeat would be bad and then we have to travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday for the late game.

Rashid Sumaila – Ghanaian International center-back

There’s news coming from Ghanasoccernet.com that Newcastle are watching Ghanaian International center-back Rashid Sumaila ahead of the January transfer market.

They cite various reports in the UK media which we cannot find.

The Ghanaian currently plays for Al Qadsia in Kuwait City and he’s been there just over two years.

There were reports the player was wanted by Rangers in the summer but nothing happened.

The 6ft tall defender is said to be being monitored by Newcastle with a possible bid coming in January for the defender.

We are going to get lots of these transfer reports – maybe more than usual – because Rafa has asked for five targets to be defined for each position in the Newcastle side.

So while we are linked with lots of targets the real question will be which ones are near the top of the list.

Rashid Sumaila has six full caps for Ghana and was part of the Ghana squad in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

If Rafa brings in another center-back we would expect one that is taller than 6ft and also very good in the air.

How Will Newcastle Fare At West Brom?

He looks like a cross between Marcel Desailly and Benteke.

    Here…

So proud as an #nufc fan to have this man as our manager. Tells us how it is. If backed will win us ‘that’ trophy. Sadly looks like he is going to be let down again by an owner who is like a cancer on our club. I feel nauseous and sick at what lies ahead…

    True faith

    Micheal Martin …

There is no second interested party in #NUFC It is all Ashley lies designed to milk more out of Staveley. Ashley risks losing a buyer, Rafa and plunging United into crisis. The man is a cancer on our club.

    Micheal Martin again …

The time has come for supporters to walk away from #nufc if Ashley doesn’t sell up. ST DDs can be cancelled at the end of Jan. Or we can shut up complaining about it all and be happy following a zombie club.

    sitc,
I think you’re being a little bit unfair on the fans in their thoughts on Joselu. He got off to a great home start with that goal against West Ham, a decent performance against Swansea with a really good header saved. The crowd were starting to take to him. It is hardly the crowds fault that his entire confidence seemed to crumble after the Stoke game. Saying that I wasn’t at the game but I doubt very much he got booed on a bright sunny Saturday afternoon in a game we were winning. That miskick on Saturday, imo affected the whole crowd and team, had he have just made a decent fist of it, it might have inspired a bit of confidence. Mitro most definitely isn’t the saviour but we can’t continue to let this bloke sink further in to his shell. It’s cruel and is doing no good to the team.
