Rafa Gives Full Injury Update On Three Injured Players

We have missed Mikel Merino, Jamaal Lascelles, Christian Atsu and Paul Dummett recently.

And Dummett has been out since the first half of our first game against Tottenham with a serious hamstring injury but he should be back before the end of the year – hopefully.

Mikel is back fit again and hopefully, he will start tonight at the Hawthorns.

Jacob Murphy has looked very good in the last two games he has started – and offers an attacking threat up front so we haven’t missed Christian Atsu too much.

Jamaal Lascelles – Newcastle have missed him

Murphy can also score goals and he’s now looking to be a good buy for Newcastle with Rafa having held him back as the gaffer says he has learned a lot and has become a better player in training.

This is what Rafa has said about the three injured players:

“Each one is different,”

“Dummett is training but still he needs to have the confidence that he can sprint at 100% and all these things, so still a little time.”

“Atsu is still recovering but still a couple of weeks, we will see how he is going on with his recovery.”

“Jamaal I have been talking with. He can run, but still he needs to manage it a little bit when he has to turn. How long? Not for this game.”

“Chelsea? Very difficult for all three.”

The player we have missed the most is Jamaal Lascelles the captain.

Since he’s been out we have looked too porous in defense with Lejeune still getting to grips with the Premier League.

The game after Chelsea is a home game against Leicester on 9th September, a week on Saturday,  so maybe Jamaal can be fit for that game?

Always go for the win, unless sometimes I think it might be a draw.

So based on Steve Wraith’s twèt it does look like the Staveley deal is dead and buried, and if anyone has info then it is probably him seeing as he was sitting with the Staveley consortium at the Liverpool match !

Time for fans at the games to let the slug know its time to go.

Zombie club is right, under the slug the club is sleep walking all the way to league one.

    Ashley out!

Jail, the very same people who left, last season when we were losing 1-3 to Norwich, missed the second-half. Guess they were better off at the pub, this time. Never agree with leaving early or booing, but a lot are sick of Ashley’s carryings on and maybe the recent transfer window and current losing streak have finally tipped many over the edge.
Charlie’s scenario of near bottom of the Championship, 20,000 at SJP, was like being visited by The Ghost of Christmas Past! Bah, humbug, Charlie! 😮

I blame rafa for his set up and the use of the players during say the last 6 games, some of them players should have been dropped a long time ago plus rafas set up play is to damn frustrating at times for me, I prefer a 3-5-2 system like most of the teams play why he doesn’t use it is well beyond me, the main culprit here is Ashley and his petty spending habbits on buying players I do blame him for everything that has happened here and penfold as well, no more word on a takeover bar from a 2nd party yeah right and Steve Wraith I wouldn’t take anything he says

shire said there was now an exclusivity agreement in place with PCP which struck me as strange as surely we would have heard about it.

i can’t believe a geordie consortium would have anything like enough money to be really competitive.

    Charlie

I’ve got the same horrible vision of how this will pan out and I am 49 years on from my first game. shameful how much this club has under achieved with a right rogues gallery of owners.

    Geordie mark

ash doesn’t give a rats what the fans think and never has.

he will do when theres no supporters in the ground though rotunda, even the die hard fans after the last 4 games are getting really fed up now, Ashley has played this takeover trick to many times peoples had enough of how he treats well respected managers and players alike and worse of all how he treats the supporters and the local media
