Who Was Newcastle’s Best Player At Chelsea?

Please let us know who you think Newcastle’s best player was in the 3-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge today.

That’s only one point we have gained from the last 6 games after we started very well and picked up 14 points from the first 9 games.

So it’s  a little bit worrying at the moment.

Rafa Benitez – on the touchline today

The sky pundits seemed to think that the takeover could be sooner rather then later and said something along the lines of that ashley has said that takeover was to far gone to turn back….anyone know if anything has happened??

Leicester in many ways will be harder than Chelsea as we will be expected to chase the game leaving Vardy in acres of space to get in behind worrying very worrying !

I think Gayle is good enough to get goals at this level but unfortunately needs stronger players around him and better service

Rafas choices are baffling at times though every game is a must win but Leicester at home is crucial

Who the hell voted for Diame….is that you raffa…. you gotta be taking the piss. Diame was thorn in our team today. Absolute waste of a shirt . and I blame raffa who complains our team is not good enough then plays worst player Diame…..Instead of shelvey or Hayden…..I’ll rather play colback then Diame

    I said

Matt Ritchie as a left wing back.
    Against who.
Victor Moses a player with pace, strength and athleticism.

    Crazy.

Sorry to repeat this. However, I’d like to expand on it.
To me that was the work of someone who has lost the plot.
I think his players will be thinking the same.

    Mitro
Transfer window opens in less than 30 days.
Have they agreed a deal for him to leave.
If he does not play he cannot get injured.
    Unless in training that is.

    Another express service from Ed

Put a lot of thought into my comment so I’ll keep re-posting until it stops. 🙂

Fact is that all of their bench would be in our first team, to see Willian coming on was enough to make me shrink even further behind the sofa.

Conte was being kind to us by not bringing on Pedro he’d have well and truly skinned Ritchie at LB.

I must admit to being very confused to see Mbemba and Manquillo both playing right side.

And I was shouting at the TV to get Shelvey on before they get a third, but that didn’t happen till it was too late but I think he might have already given up before he was actually shoved onto the pitch. He needs to start games, certainly before HT.

HT himself started well enough but once Chelsea got their act together he started to look like well loved pantomime performer, the rear end.

Hopefully we’ll have Lascelles and Dummett for the Leicester and a bit more steel in defense.

Time for us to go on a good run.

Oh and if Rafa picks a similar team to today for the Leicester game then I’ll start to believe Catchie’s theory.

Sky’ll be getting its info from the one who’s not involved in the take over talks but knows most. Jib tipped us the wink, yesterday, that the team’s be informed of completion before the match, leaving the club to announce the takeover after it. So, be prepared for some good news. You’ll spot Jiblets trying to Edge out camera range, modest as he is!

Or it could be that Jib’s leak has prompted the announcement to be delayed….. Harrumph!

Anyway Springy, what’s the craic from your end? It’s got to be closer to the mark than Jiblets’. It couldn’t be that the property deal you alluded to was meant to be Ashley’s interest in Brixton Market at £30m rather than the one that needed a few hundred million….. or could it?

He hasn’t lost the plot. It was actually smart for him to use this game as an experiment. Rather this game which we are expected to lose then any other match.

You asked him to change things because we don’t have a number 10, so he tried 5-4-1.

He would have learned important things from this game regarding the formation.

We might see it again verses Leicester considering it worked pretty well for us. Atleast at the start.

Well Scumderland have just gone 1-0 down, not that they’re of any real relevance these days and I take little comfort in that from our own predicament.

Ashley has said that takeover was to far gone to turn back? If it’s true, oh dear, how unfortunate. It’d be nice to offer him our sincere best wishes when it’s confirmed so let’s hope that comment’s accurate.

Danny Murphy “If Shelvey can’t get in this Newcastle team…I’m watching different football, I really am”

I still can’t believe this season we haven’t tried a midfield 3 of Hayden , Merino and Shelvey the 3 of them look tailor made to play together !?!?

I like the approach seeing as we were chasing goals, but think a 4-3-3 variant in the future would be a good starting point!

The criticize of Rafa regards to changes is that he uses them reactive instead for proactive…

…should have started differently, but kudos for making the changes!

The question should be “who was our least worst player.”

A couple more results like this and if other results go against us, I can seriously see us battling in the bottom 6.

Toonluvva there is no doubt unless both a good quality striker and no10 is brought in then we will be battling in the bottom 6. Think that’s obvious for most to see.
