We didn’t expect to pick up anything from Chelsea yesterday and we didn’t.
The points we will pick up will be against the lower placed sides – the bottom 14 sides if you like.
We play two of those sides in the next two games – Leicester City at home followed by Everton away.
We must start picking up points from those games before we go to the Emirates to face Arsenal.
It could be a very difficult month for us in December and we could start dropping further down the league table from the 14th position we are in at the moment.
That’s the last thing we want January because it could be difficult to attract top players to the club.
Here’s what’s on the minds of Newcastle fans this Sunday morning after we lost 3-1 at Chelsea yesterday and have picked up just a single point in the last six games.
Yeah we lost 3-1 to #CFC but at least our fans actually sing & stick with the team regardless of the scoreline.
Chelsea fans cheer/sing for a few seconds when they score, pretty much it. Poor form. #NUFC

Yeah. It’s not Rafa’s fault our guys just aren’t up to the task… I hope Mike sells and sells quickly! Rafa needs new PL-worthy players! #NUFC

Ritchie complaining about the defending for that goal. Needs to take a long look at himself first. #NUFC

We might as well all pack up and go home. Once #nufc fans start thinking like this then football has died.
For the record, I’d rather be pushing for League 2 promotion with a manager like Benitez than see an Allardyce or Pulis led team narrowly avoid the drop year on year. https://t.co/iq2i5ZXUiT

The Prem all boils down to money…obv..the top teams have loads and are near the top..and we have little..but hey those yuppie kids in Chelsea are going to have some nice flats..all via #NUFC that was creamed off the top by fat Mike.

I have banged on about a ‘mini league’ for #nufc since August and Against teams in the bottom 8 we have taken 13 pts from 21. This is what will keep us up or send us down, not losing at Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge. With players to return our fortunes can improve quickly

When you look at how low on confidence we are, and how players keep making individual mistakes, you have to wonder how much of that comes from our manager telling rhe media the players aren’t good enough at every opportunity. It certainly can’t help them perform. #nufc

Last two away games especially have exposed the lack of quality & depth we’ve got. No big worries, but pray for January! #nufc

The following brings back memories – great ones.
Newcastle’s superb squad in 1969 that captured the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup!
