The last time Newcastle won the in the Premier League was when Mikel Merino got that 86th minute goal to give us a hard-earned 1-0 win at home to Crystal Palace.
Since then we have played six games and have lost five and drew at West Brom, so we need to improve as soon as possible.
We have Leicester City on Saturday at St. James’ Park and with a sell out crowd supporting the lads that could inspire them to our first win in seven weeks.
Mikel Merino – scoring the winner in our last win against Crystal Palace
We need the win to ease the tension about relegation and even about the stalled takeover; we are hoping captain Jamaal Lascelles will be fit.
We have missed Jamaal with his good play and strong leadership on the field.
A win is just what the doctor ordered.

Comment #1Thanks Sparky (earlier thread) for his info. He’s been consistent throughout, and I believe he was the original bearer of the news a while back. There is still hope, it appears…

Comment #2Re-post:I reckon:
Ashley is very keen to sell.
Staveley is quite happy to buy.
On that basis, Stavely has the upper hand.
If Ashley can make a killing on another investment
(as suggested by hibbitt) but needs the hard cash,
then the £250m hard cash selling the club could be
the equivalent of £400m.

Comment #4Jamal’s interview doesn’t give me much confidence that he’ll play v Leicester.
As for the takeover saga, it’ll be a serious test of Rafa’s metal and ability to keep us in the premiership this season should the matter be put on hold till the end of the season, but the prize for us and for him, a possible pcp takeover should we stay up, is massive.

Comment #6the big give away is that Ashley is still at the table
i ask you why, we all know how volatile he is but for whatever his reasons the negotiations go on
only one buyer has put Ashley under the cosh he wants out but still wants the best possible deal
if PCP walk his one opportunity to sell has gone so he has to keep them interested
but there’s no doubt PCP have the upper hand and obviously will use it to there advantage
