Rafa Benitez has just given his press conference for the game at home to Leicester City tomorrow.
The game will celebrate Newcastle’s 125 years of history, and we are hoping for a win.
Rafa has delivered some good news that both captain Jamaal Lascelles and winger Christian Atsu are fit again.
That leaves only Paul Dummett on the injured list and Paul will play for the U23 team tonight.
Rafa Benitez – we must all stay united
This is some of what Rafa has said today:
“Lascelles and Atsu are available – Dummett will play for the U-23s tonight.”
“We have to improve as a team to make sure we can compete – we have to maximise what we have.”
“The 125th anniversary will be important for everyone here, and hopefully, we can make the atmosphere a positive one for our players.”
“We have to be really, really united if we want to stay in the Premier League.”
“It was amazing what Leicester achieved in 2015/2016, and you can see that they still have some of those players.”
With Newcastle having lost five of our last six games Rafa is asking Newcastle fans to stay together – to remain united.
It’s natural with one just point taken from the last 18 there are rumblings from some fans – but hopefully, we can snap out of our bad spell tomorrow, especially with Jamaal probably starting the game tomorrow.
The atmosphere will be fantastic, and that will undoubtedly help our players, and if we get all 3 points, it will be a terrific win.
Here’s hoping.

Comment #1I reckon Lascelles will probably play, did think Rafa perhaps wouldn’t start him but that’s a strong hint he’s given there.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Atzu startedas well’
Don’t think we’ll be seeing Ritchie at LB though.

Comment #3Desmond will have the publishing rights for Newcastle when the story comes out, this is how they make money fast with all inclusive information regarding a story.

Comment #5I think Rafa will start both as we need this win, also both Ritchie and Atsu will probably start on the wings or has Murphy merit his spot for now?
Either way I think all 3 wingers will be used during the game.

He is the papers lol well owns the express and is a publisher himself.
Could be his story or maybe he has a strong connection with Mike meaning more money for him and his business?

Comment #8He may have bought exclusive rights from our soon to be new owners which happens these days to get first dips on a huge story such as this.
I’m actually surprise Sky Sports didnt attend lol but it’s safe to say all publishers will be waiting in the wings to get this story once it’s out.

I get your point but to be actually sat in the meeting? Not sure top notch business people let papers in their meetings? Then for the story to be in the SUN.
fist pumping for the cameras as well. Whenever media moguls are involved something dodgy is going on.
