This Could Be Good News For Newcastle In Upcoming Transfer Window

26-year-old Scottish International Tom Cairney was a Newcastle target last January and during the summer and it seems Rafa Benitez rates the central midfielder.

We don’t know if Tom’s dropped off the radar at Newcastle, but we need creative players like Cairney so they can create chances.

We also need some new strikers who are able to put the ball into the back of the net.

A massive fee of £20M was put on Cairney’s head by Fulham and Newcastle refused to pay that amount in January or last summer.

But that fee could have come down since Fulham are struggling in the Championship and are only in 15th position this season after challenging for promotion last season.

Maybe the club think Tom is expendable and they can use the money to strengthen the squad.

Tom Cairney – Newcastle target

While Tom really likes playing in London for the Cottagers, he has also mentioned the fact that Rafa is interested in signing him for Newcastle and we know Tom wants to play in the Premier League.

This is what Cairney has said in the Evening Standard:

“You can’t put a price on happiness.”

“Last season I was extremely happy on and off the pitch and that’s when you play your best football.”

“I wanted to show my happiness to the fans, let them know that I want to be here and try to take Fulham forward.”

“I love playing football here. That’s what I want to do.”

“I feel a responsibility to Fulham. It’s been great ever since I arrived. I enjoy playing football.”

“I really enjoy playing it at the Cottage and long may it continue.”

“It’s a massive accolade that Rafa Benitez wants me.”

“It’s a pat on the back to myself I guess, to know that other managers appreciate what I’m doing.”

Maybe if Rafa went after him in January, we would have better luck.

To keep the cost down maybe a loan deal through the end of the season with an option to buy in the summer.

That would be good for Newcastle but not sure if Fulham or Cairney would agree to that deal.

Tom signed a contract extension this year which is through June 2021.

    Never mind mate.

As soon as I hear I will ‘blog’ immediately. I have been informed on a Friday the source drives back to North East from London and will be driving now.

My source is adamant he was told this backer is ‘Royalty’…MEGA RICH

What on earth are you three on about, and how does it relate to the article. There is too much meaningless (to we who are out of this insestuous loop) prattle on this blog now. And it’s he and Bishop not he – whomsoever He is.
