Alan Shearer Really Worried About Newcastle Following Latest Defeat

Newcastle lost their sixth game out of the last seven this afternoon when we went down to Leicester City 3-2 and as Alan Shearer has said we were nowhere near good enough.

Newcastle have to stop the rot and it could have been seven defeats in a row but for a great comeback from 2-0 down to get a draw at West Brom.

This is starting to get a little worrying and Mike Ashley has struck again by refusing to use Newcastle’s money to get players in last summer.

Everton are in form and we play them on Wednesday might and we need to play a lot better than this to take anything out of that game.

We just don’t have enough talent. Simple as that. Lack of investment has killed us again. Ashley is hanging on a thread now. If he doesn’t sell it will be a relegation battle all the way and we absolutely must get better players in during the January window.

No, I wouldn’t even say it’s a debate. You categorically stated that mitrovic has been poor for a long time when all I’ve done is bring up facts. You’ve just jumped from saying how he had a lot of chances, to d Murphy being picked over him, to him supposedly having a tendency to get sent off. Even though his last sending off was in the 2015/16 season before his suspension in the West Ham game earlier this season.

I’ll be the first to admit he hasn’t been great but he certainly has not been poor for us so to say that is just wrong.

Ashley needs to go sooner the better. Table and form is too worrying and we need someone to actually back our manager.

Yes people should be complaining, but it’s all aimed at the wrong man.

People are so desperate to pinpoint what is exactly wrong with the squad so they go for the manager. It’s the easiest way out.

So it’s down to Rafa that the players can’t pass a ball? Right.. Good one. I guess he should just sit all the players down in training and teach them how to pass a ball right? I mean, it’s not like they are already professional players who should be able to do the basic fundamentals of the sport that they are considered a ‘pro’ at?

The players are shit. That’s down to Ashley.

    Get. A. Grip.

Spot on Ronaldo mate. Forget about blaming Rafa, look at the owner and the squad he has paid for. Horrendous. So little talent in there. The penny pinching is creating the conditions for yet another relegation under Ashley.

Ronaldo did you watch the championship season at all. Forget facts mitro was god awful and nearly every fan especially on here was calling for him to be dropped just like Joselu now. For the amount of minutes mitro has played compared to the suspensions he has been given is shocking and to try and argue anything other is laughable.

Team just looks disjointed at the moment because they are lacking confidence, we are a completely different side without Lascelles, he will have the lads fired up and won’t stand for any lacklustre performances. Keep the faith, support the team

I support NUFC, not any one person. Rafa included. I criticise when I see it fit to do so and there’s plenty to get through currently.

Your comment about transforming us into top 10 contenders is a facile strawman.

I like how anybody that has responded in defence of Rafa just has this vague notion that it’s all in hand because it’s Rafa and we should still count ourselves blessed to have him and use the same excuses he does about players. Very easy that one isn’t Rafa, avail yourself of all responsibility. No blame at his door even though it is self-evident his decisions, direction and negativity are costing us points.

How about debate the points made. Of course, instead you can continue mind-numbingly chanting “the best manager we’ve ever had” clutching your Rafa pillows and remain in the Rafa delusion.

Gayle is the only real thing we have going for us a the moment, just hope he stays fit.

Play Shelvey and Merino together and we should provide more chances for Gayle.

Forget Mitro, he’s rarely gonna start under Rafa.

At least Lascelles is on his way back along with Dummet, which should help the defensive side of things.

Darlow, Manquillo, Diame and Perez are truly shite.

A lack of quality and confidence will keep us fighting relegation all season

I hope Rafa walks. Only because we don’t deserve him.

We deserve to be stuck with another Pardew type so that all you ‘football expert’s’ can be right about the manager not being good enough.

Even with the takeover going through I can’t see how it will raise spirits, come match day the same loons will do the same job of bringing a shit tonne of negativity our way once more.

    I understand disappointment.

I don’t understand how you would all be happy with the one man who transformed our club gone. All because he’s not working miracles with this team.

We actually deserve to be stuck with Ashley. I don’t want any of you people to be happy ever with regards to this club. It hurts to say that but what’s the point? It just isn’t fun supporting this team, no one else allows it.

I’m trying to understand what happened to the team that was sitting on 14 points or so after 9 games, that played compact in defense and was tough to break down. We had a couple key injuries – merino and lascelles – but the shape of the team is completely gone. It was also around this time that Ashley said the team was up for sale and of course since stoke it has been stavely this and that. I think Rafa has lost this team. Rafa seems to be waiting for the new owner, waiting for the transfer window, the players look like they are in limbo – they seemingly have no fire in them. Rafa needs to do something to get the team back – I’m not sure what. Lascelles, if truly fit, should have started today in place of Lejeune. We need his leadership. Mbemba needs to play – either in the back line or in place of Hayden. Manquillo needs to be dropped. His foray into the penalty area with Gayle breaking through the center that amounted to nothing except for the turnaround for their winning OG was a dreadful piece of play. Hopefully Dummett (never though I’d say this) gets back in at left back – at least he can defend. And Mitro, so long as he is here, and Shelvey need to be involved. They give us some ability to try to control the game. Come on Rafa – take a look in the mirror and not at your CV. And stop talking in the media about the transfer window and new players. Stop running down the ones you have. Make them add up to a sum bigger than their parts and play with heart and some smarts. HWTL!

We’re not even halfway through the season, 2 wins and we pull away from danger, there’s a lot of football to be played and we are about to have new owners which will lift the whole city PLAYERS INCLUDED they will start playing for there futures when new players arrive….it could be worse we could still have Steve McLaren or wearing red and white stripes

Lascelles needs to start next game without him we have no leaders at all. Atsu and Yedlin linked up well again bring back Shelvey and the 4321 formation, its dire to watch but we won with it.

Of course people will call for Rafas head after another defeat doesn’t make them d1cks just p1ssed off we all say sh1t we don’t mean when we are angry.

We really do have a poor team one of if not the worse I can remember in the Prem and unless we buy and buy big in Jan we will go down. Back to basics Rafa lets start nicking those 1 nils again better than losing.

The club is worth supporting once the six foot parasite is gone. Right now we are in disarray and fighting amongst ourselves but there has only ever been one major problem. And his name is Ashley. Once he’s gone we can be a good club again. It will take several seasons for full recovery. If he stays I believe we could be toast. You can’t let a cancer stay within. Cut that lump of crap out as soon as possible.

I did see the championship season. I saw mitro only given 11 starts in broken games, ie not a run of games and still scored a decent amount of goals. Barring the odd game, Blackburn for example, we played well as a team. Key point being team. Had a few big victories like I mentioned earlier.

And what do you mean forget the facts lol? I wouldn’t say nearly all fans were calling for him to be dropped since I recall many asking for him to start.

Again, 2 red cards in his career. Not good, but not shocking either. So I wouldn’t really go on saying how he looks like he’s going to get sent off every time he plays since he hasn’t been sent off Serbia either. You do realise that shelvey has been here for less time and has missed more games through suspension, yet mitro is one with the reputation of getting sent off.

Clarke was our best cb by a mile last season. Most people thought lascelles was poor. Lejuene looked very solid pre-season and earned very high praise for his performances in la liga. He was pretty cheap when it comes to premier league prices (surprise surprise). Yet Rafa is clearly an idiot for thinking Clarke and him are the best cbs at the club.

Yes a very good question YoungMag. Where do people rank the squad? I think clearly bottom five. We do look confused on the pitch now as well. I would agree with that. Long stretches of unfocused play. Poor passing. Panic stricken hoofballs from the back. Bizarre stuff. And so disappointing from Merino and Ritchie. Manquillo isn’t good enough either. What a mess.

To be fair, lascelles missed the last few games of pre season due to injury. Would have been an unnecessary risk so early in the season to start a player who wasn’t fit. So I don’t think lejuene was actually chosen over lascelles.

Rafa needs to go now. We need a top class manager like Sven Goran Eriksson. Rafa just isn’t picking the right players. Mitrovic, Aarons, Lascelles, Shelvey, Saivet and even Haidara should be starting. We need pace at left back. Haidara can do a job. It seems as though Rafa’s picking players based on race and nationality. It’s not right

Did you not see us struggle like crazy when we lost Gayle from the team? Did you not see Darryl Murphy come in and do a much better job at holding the ball up and finishing his chances. I guess you must have been asleep all year.

Plenty of heart today but lacking in quality. A comparison of the two squads on show today will indicate how inferior we are in terms of quality players when compared to a mid table Leicester.
With the bottom teams starting to pick up points we need to get back to defending as we did earlier in the season. Good to see Gayle getting back amongst the goals.

a manager gives his team the best chance though, he doesn’t make to many mistakes with players who aren’t playing well at all he drops them simple as that, I would even look at the youngins and make a point to the senior players meaning you don’t play the kids will take over, even rooney was plucked from the reserves at 17 years old and look what he done so we have to give them a chance or its pointless having a reserve squad
