The Newcastle team to play at home against Leicester City this afternoon has just been announced.
Newcastle have just one draw from the last six games and one win in the last 10 games – so we could do with all 3 points today.
A win is what we need!!
Here’s the side:
TEAM NEWS: Here’s how Newcastle United will line up against @LCFC at St. James’ Park today (kick-off 5:30pm GMT). #NUFC #125YearsUnited pic.twitter.com/qDcbN8vnqe

DeAndre Yedlin – back in the side today at right back
Jamaal Lascelles and Christian Atsu are fit again and they are both on the bench today – so is Jonjo Shelvey.
Only about two in five fans think we will win this game this afternoon against a good Leicester City side.
What do you think?
Comments welcome.

Comment #11I would rather have Joselu than Perez, at least Joselu can do layoffs and build up the play. Perez trying to beat 3 men gets a little bit old. No real point even mentioning Mitrovic… completely off the menu —shame. Murphy needs a hell of a game with Atsu coming back. If Atsu was not coming back I reckon Aarons would be about to displace him anyway. Not having a go at Murphy, but in my view, he is third choice for the left flank.

Comment #16I can’t believe that Joselu is in line-up again… So, we are not about to score, at least not from striker. Maybe Rafa is doing this on purpose, to show buyers – see that’s the level of striker I got from Fatso, so do something quick ASAP 🙂 I cannot see that Joselu is way better than Mitrovic and Perez.
Anyway, let’s go! 🙂 Howay The Lads! 🙂

Comment #18Joselu starts again and mitrovic is still sitting on bench. It’s time we all conclude mitrovic is not a newcastle player and of all the remaining strikers weshould simply convlude they all as bad as each other and can’t score goals.

Comment #22If I were Rafa, I would consider taking Hayden off very early. He doesnt have the legs to make it even a full half of a game. He’s not a bad player. Just a liability beyond 30 minutes of a game.
Newcastle have lost the midfield battle lately and need some real energy in the center if want to get something from this game.
Ive been surprised by jacob murphy lately… he looked useless in the first few appearances, but has some real skill. I think he’s the mostly likely of newcastle’s youngsters (arma, aarons, ayoze) to actaully develop into something special.

You say to remove Hayden as we need more energy in the middle but who do you replace him with? Shelvey? Diame? I don’t think either offer more energy than Hayden.

Need a win. Need back to back wins really.
Another odd team selection. Let’s see.

Comment #37It’s as if Rafa is trying to force Ashley to sell.
Honestly thought Mitro might of had a chance of playing today. Also if Lascelles is fit I would of started him – can’t be ‘match fit I suppose’

Comment #39Very strong bench today, shame the starting 11 is weak as p1ss.
We have easily one of the weakest squads in the Prem no thanks to Ashley but when better players are benched or not even in the matchday squad Rafa makes some very strange decisions.
Richie has been very poor for some time now but again gets a start, And Joselu well less said the better. If and its a big if we win Rafa gets all the plaudits if we lose again he should take the stick too.

Comment #40Leicester only got a draw in their last 2 away games against West Ham & Stoke. They are not exactly firing on all cylinders in away games.
