After doing do well in the first 9 games of the season, Newcastle are in free fall right now and our record is slightly worse than it was two years ago after 16 games played under Steve McClaren.
Newcastle won their 15th and 16th games against Liverpool 2-0 and then at Tottenham in that incredible 2-1 win.
In our next five games two years ago we picked up only 2 points so hopefully if Newcastle can pick up a win or two soon we can start pulling away from the relegation zone.
Dwight Gayle – starting to score again
But certainly now is not the time to panic – a win soon will give Newcastle a huge boost.

Comment #1Same problem we’ve had for years (since Ba left) NO prolific striker, lack of quality all over the pitch, so this season was inevitable. Millions wasted on flops. The club needs a kick up the arse.

Comment #6Not good reading at all that, especially as the clubs below barring possibly Swansea have better squads.
The strange thing right now regarding tactics is a lot of people wanted a change to 442 and Rafa did it, whilst our best defensive player was injured. It hasn’t worked yet he has persisted. Before Lascelles got injured we had 3 cm’s but now play 2 leaving us so open through the middle with Lejuene looking a very poor CB. I get trying it with our leader on the field and shouting instructions to Hayden etc but we have become so open I would have expected Rafa to resort back to his tried and tested method a few games ago.

From previous thread.
Do you not think Atsu should of started the game? Never said he would have stopped us conceding two goals. But we sat back for the majority of the game until he helped push us up the pitch.

Comment #9@shitstains, you scrub them nasty britches yet? Or still too busy trying to get a rise outta people. Josiére is your boy or whatever. Maybe you lorded the signing at the time and are bitter he didn’t work out. I shall never tire in my pursuit to see the end of Josiéres career at Newcastle. As I will never tire bringing the bitterness out of you.

Comment #10I noticed Harry Arter was on the bench for Bournemouth yesterday. I am not sure as to why he was benched, possibly coming back from an injury, but if he is out of favour, he is exactly the type of player that could help a relegation threatened side.

Comment #11Any ideas on why Amanda met Mike ?
Either – deal done agreed
Or
All publicity – trying to smoke out other bidders ?
Can’t see any other alternative ?
It can’t be …….

Amanda – I can’t bid more than that

Comment #13Lascelles will be back in for the Everton game, I’m pretty sure Shelvey will start along side a fitter Merino and I’m thinking Atsu will also start, keep the faith we won’t go down this season. We’re on a bad run, one win one bit of luck and we’ll bounce back. I’d say at a minimum we’ll need 5 or 6 more wins and 5 – 7 draws from 23 games….very much achievable
