Newcastle Fans Take To Twitter – Worried About The Future

After picking up just one point out of the last 18 played for Newcastle seem to be in free fall and we are currently 5th bottom of the league and just 2 points above the relegation zone.

It now seems clear this side cannot compete and if we are to survive and not be relegated to the Championship for a third time the team needs strengthening in January with several players coming in.

We are now worried about the next 6 games and two of them are against Arsenal and Manchester City;  how many points we can get out of those games?

Newcastle fans are not happy today.

Here are some of the tweets and most fans blame the current situation on Mike Ashley for not spending enough money last summer on new players.

Ashley is more worried what Newcastle’s financial situation looks like then how good the team is on the pitch.

Mike Ashley – lack of investment could cause another relegation

Always been a problem with Ashley – who should never again be the owner of a football club.

Give some credit to Leicester City! They had a bit of luck but they are a very good team with top players. With a bit of luck we could’ve got something from that game. Just don’t get why Mitro and Shelvey weren’t used !!!

Ashley and Bishop are trying to ramp up the pressure on PCP with these phantom bidders

but it’s out of PCP hands the bids on the table and he has to either take it or leave it

the balls firmly in Ashleys court no one else can make this decision but every day he hesitates is another nail in the relegation coffin

Rafa has to take some blame for performances at home as he sets the tactics and like last season we sit back and let teams press us instead of our players pushing on and pressing them. Teams then do a high press when we have the ball and we just punt long balls aimlessly at Joselu , who is shit, or Gayle , who is too lightweight and it comes straight back at us.
The crowd every week are dying to have something to get excited about and if we pressed high and put a few tackles in then they’d be right up for it , but tactics say sit back in own half and it doesn’t work.
When we do get the ball we can’t get forward as we’re too deep and give it away in dangerous places – like merino with first goal. Confidence then saps away and we make sloppy passes – like Ritchie all game.
We need to play like a home team against the winnable teams and put them on the back foot. When we did press high in the first 10-15 mins we forced errors and had turnovers higher up the pitch whiccrhen creates chances for Gayle and Murphy to use their pace and get in behind them. It’s the only way we ever look dangerous.
Last season was embarrassing at times when we allowed crap to push forward against us and pin us back at times – it was only our superior quality and finishing that covered our tactical negativity but we haven’t got that this season.
If we’re gonna play long ball use the right resources and put mitro up top as at least he can hold it up – yes he’s slow and mad but he can hold and lay off better than Joselu and does make runs down the channels – albeit very slowly.
Also the choice of defence is indefensible as manquillo and Clarke cannot play the ball out from the back – Clarke’s touch is embarrassing for a premier cb, especially when he’s trying to feed it back in when we’re high up the pitch. Mbemba is far and away our best defender on the ball yet doesn’t get a sniff. A world class manager would adjust tactics and players – even in a tiny squad – to adjust to the game as it unfolds. Against Bournemouth and Watford everyone sat around me could see the structure of the team was wrong and needed adjusting yet nothing changed and we got nothing from those games.
I’ve put 4 if my kids through the torture of supporting the mags and it’s sad when the latest to have the season ticket experience – the youngest – can see we are too negative and have no obvious game plan to score other than boot it long and hope or wait for a mistake and run really quickly forward and hope for a half chance. The older 3 have found better things to spend their money on.
Their are thousands of fans like me that have seen the lows and had a sniff of some highs and will keep going back but tactics and choices need to change if we’re gonna have anything to shout about this season and as much as I’m over the moon to have Rafa in charge he’s only a name on a piece of paper and as crap as the players are he needs to look at what he puts on the pitch and how he sets them up if we’re gonna get out of this mess – cos I can guarantee that fat Sam will set his team up in the right way and put the right players on the pitch on Wednesday night to make sure he kills the game and the crowd in the first 20 mins, and that’s what’s being happening lately, the crowd is flat by the 20th Nimitz and nothing changes to lift them, mistakes creep in and the pressure and tension grows. A world class manager would see this and make the necessary adjustments even if it goes against his principals and means playing players he doesn’t like.

i think its you who doesn’t see the big picture.

Pardew and Shteve had one thing in common, they both had Ashley as the owner, no wait all three had Ashley as the owner, but the only difference is, this time Rafa is meant to be a world class coach.

Ashley lied to KK, Shearer, not that i wanted him to stay, but Sham sacked without given a chance, treated Chris H disgracefully, gave Carr all the power for transfers, never strengthened for pardew after finish 5th, backed Shteve but sacked him very quickly, and rightly so for the poor results.

so given all that , what makes you think Ashley would change for Rafa? it puzzels me, infact this season i think Rafa was always going to get not enough to spend given that Ashley put the club up for sale, he got the club into the prem the big shop window, now if he spends 80-100 million, without 1 seasons premiership money behind him , the funds would come out of Ashleys pocket, and he would never get that back.

now im sure that rafa being a world class coach is the reason why Ashley took a chance on him, hoping he would coach more, having a would class coach is also a great selling point to.

bearing all that in mind, Rafa had 2 choices in the summer stick or go, he chose to stay.

thats all going on behind the scenes, the thing he is charge of is what im most upset with, he is to defensive for a start, his team selection, i thought P45 had an EGO but wow Rafa takes this term to a whole new level, his treatment of players is disgusting, we have a very average squad, but he himself makes it even weaker with petty feuds.

everything that is happening right now, he knew about before signing on the dotted line

Couldnt agree more with u kennyg33.
Dont demand a win, but let us for gods sake see a team that atleast try to win!!
Benitez is far too defencive for Newcastle.
Hope Ashley picks up his moneys, walks away and take Benitez with him.

I’m just a young man of 62 and have been a magpie for well over 50 yrs, but it still hurts to see my club lose …again.
When I was a kid, if I’d been to a match and we lost, I would race home, run to my bedroom and cry like a baby for what seemed like ages…my parents always thought it was an “age” thing.
It still hurts me to this day after a defeat…but the tears are long gone.
This latest defeat is hurting me again and the sooner Mr Ashley leaves ,the better.
What he has been allowed to do to my club is a downright disgrace.
I sometimes wonder how he became a billionaire, because he seems to lack a lot of simple common sense….has it been luck or maybe insider information that has partly helped him in making his fortune?
I don’t think he likes common sense, he leaves that at home
For the first time in a while I don’t think we can fully blame our players for our position,
I just don’t think they’re good enough…any of them…and that includes merino who yesterday looked as though he was knackered from the kick off.
I am pleased we have Rafa at the moment…who else who is better would come here?.. .but he frustrates the life out of me sometimes….yesterday….he brings on Mitro with less than 3 minutes of normal time left?!…that’s an insult to the poor lad…what’s he supposed to do with that?
Most of us are pleased Rafa is our manager, but if results continue in this way who’s to say new owners will look elsewhere to protect their investment…I don’t think we will go down but as in true Newcastle tradition we will leave it until the last minute

Looking at Ashley puts you in a bad mood ?
It’s bad enough thinking about him – avert your eyes
At least you don’t have to live with him and clear the vomit out of the fireplace
