Newcastle Concern: Things Probably Will Get Worse Before They Get Better

Newcastle have been the worst team in the Premier League over these last eight games when we have picked up only one point.

It’s good that we got 14 points on the board in our first nine games but now we are just one point above the drop zone, and more defeats will see us in the bottom three.

With Amanda Staveley’s PCP Capital group offering £300M the news is that Mike Ashley is almost certain to accept that offer.

But if Newcastle keep losing games over the Christmas period it will cause Amanda Staveley to be worried that she may be buying a club that could be in the Championship next season.

Rafa Benitez – looking wistful last night

But at least Ashley and Staveley have agreed to give Rafa £30M in the January transfer window to fortify the squad for the second half of the season.

It seems Ms. Staveley knows exactly what she’s doing and she insisted on the transfer funds, and she could even be lending the club the money until she finally takes over.

Exactly why we have collapsed in the last eight games is a mystery to me – but the ship has to be steadied quickly – and a win will help us do that.

But where that next win is coming from we have no idea with Arsenal, an improving West Ham and Manchester City our next three opponents.

We will rely on Rafa Benitez’ experience and expertise to get us out of this worrying situation, and we need to keep supporting the team all this season.

Rafa also knows with Amanda Staveley as the likely new owner this is a terrific opportunity for him if only he can keep us in the Premier League this season.

We can survive but don’t be surprised if we are low down in the league table come January.

Remember Rafa in his hay day at Liverpool great manager but they could be losing and chasing a game and he would take off a striker and bring on a RB.

if the takeover happens and if I was the new owner theres only 1 person I would be on the phone to and that’s kevin keegan, yeah I know hes been out of football for a while but he still has the gift and its not as though he hasn’t done it before, I know theres people think I am crazy about this but to save us from relegation I really think hes our only option really I would dispense of rafas services though after the last 10 games and excuses over money and berating players its just not good enough

A £30m January transfer fund is a worry. It won’t even buy a top striker. If, and when Staveley comes in, this club needs MAJOR investment or we aren’t even going to lick the coat tails of the likes of West Ham, Southampton, Burnley, Bournemouth and West Brom etc.
Lot of work and heartache yet to come I’m afraid before we finally turn it around.
Ashley to blame for ALL of this.

Rafa is part of the consortium and he’s an integral part of the takeover muppet.

no need to get a bit jumpy and with an insult to boot, this is only my thoughts on the matter, I will wait till may and see what happens to the club then, hang on though we wont need to go to may to find out that were relegated will we the way were loosing games constantly, something has to change rafas methods is terrible with the players and his choices in the team, please keep your insults to yourselves

So sack Rafa and the takeover never happens. Is that what you want? The fat man here for another 6 months, no money in January and guaranteed relegation?

Wow, some great, forward thinking fans we have.

excuse me but I have been a fan of Newcastle united for 54 years, I live in Newcastle upon tyne, ive seen the most crap Newcastle teams over the years and by far this one is the worst with the world class manager in charge of a sinking ship which if its true what you say hes part of the consortium and is an integral part of the takeover then hes commited an offence not just to the players but us the supporters who have had to watch this drivel over the past 10 games, he has on purpose put a team out to get beat to knock the price down is this what your said Dubaimicky

For goodness’ sake, Rafa almost saved us after he arrived at Newcastle, he then steered us to the top of the second tier. But according to the jumpy ones on this blog, he is suddenly a bad manager. You detractors are just like the ones that agitated to get Bobby Robson sacked. Give yourselves a shake.
