Newcastle Need Points – Can We Pick Up Something At Arsenal?

Newcastle have five league games to play through January 1st when hopefully we can start to bring some new players in to help us climb the table.

Newcastle have picked up only one point from the last eight games, and that’s a massive slump in form and results after we picked up 14 points in our first nine games.

So somehow we have to pick up some points in these next five games to help keep us out of the relegation zone; we are one point above the bottom three.

We play Arsenal at the Emirates tomorrow, and the pundits are naturally going for a home win.

Newcastle have won only once at the Emirates in October 2010 when an Andy Carroll header just before half-time gave us a 1-0 win.

Rafa Benitez – the worst run of results in his career?

Maybe we can get a win tomorrow?

i honestly don’t think the opinion of a few lunatics scattered round the world posting on here will have any influence on Rafa or any new owners
the key to this whole situation are the fans in the ground , as long as they on side Rafa’s safe

By the way in case Jail’s misreading of the post he refered to gathers pace I was simply musing over the possibility that Rafa with full backing as he understood it from Ashley ( way back as you may remember when he was all smiles) possibly had a better chance of seeing a longer term rebulding of the club succeed under him then any quick fix attempts by new rich owners ala Man City or Chelsea – only looking at the bigger picture.

It isn’t Rafa’s fault that Ashley for whatever reason hasn’t carried through but it would be naive to assume that because Rafa engineered the club into a postion where a takeover was attractive the he is simply fireproof.

New rich ambitious owners I doubt are looking at a 10 year plan with Rafa being given as much time as he needs to complete an immense rebuilding job.

Will our new keeper be Kiko Cassilla or Iker Cassillas? Did Penfold get the spelling wrong? 😯
And was that Amanda Panda in the darts’ audience? ❓

Not sure that it is as simple as the fans in the ground staying on side keeps Rafa safe – much depends on who and how the new owners think and we are still very much in the dark. Do agree though that fans turning wouldn’t be good for him if you see the difference.

Something will have to be agreed soon

Let’s say a £300 million offer is on the table and it drags on into January without any agreement

Everyone on this blog thinks Ashley will HAVE to spend to stay up (so let’s say he spends 30 Million)

He’s then not going to say yes to £300 Million in February ? As he’s just spend £30 Million

Pcp are not going to pay £330 Million just because Ashley has spent £30 Million

Also £30 Million isn’t going to guarantee survival

I fear if Ashley spends he’s not going until end of season and he will bump price up massively if we stay up

    He will stay if relegated

Hibbit – meetings until midnight sound promising !!

Maybe they didn’t want to leave until agreed so Ashley can sign on the dotted line before family holiday !!!

Im still confident it will turn out ok but I do have a worry about this relegation clause if it is true.

I understand that even if the new owners are super wealthy, Amanda has to still get her client the best deal, but I still feel that if they are indeed mega rich, then the relegation clause surely would not be necessary?

Good one for Shelvey to miss anyway as unlikely he’d be picked. Time for Hayden to show what the gunners missed.

The take over is a real dogs dinner at the moment, but from Staveley’s point of view I agree. Why, Mash has over the years bled the club dry of resources to what we now have, nothing. If money had been given to Rafa in the summer this would not have happened, no question, so he has himself devalued the club. Relegation beckons and its self inflicted. If you buy a car knowing the engine was knackered you would want a g/tee, surely?
