Newcastle Fans – Trying To Stay Positive About Current Situation

It’s not a happy time for Newcastle fans – not at the moment anyway.

With just one point from the last 9 games we have dug ourselves into a deep hole but with some investment in January and some good players coming in – it’s not all lost – by any means.

We have also started to defend a lot better with captain Jamaal Lascelles back in the mix.

Rafa’s reputation may also be on the line but he’s working his socks off to turn this negative situation around.

If we can stay up and get new owners – even if that doesn’t happen until May – Rafa can get some backing from those above him for a change and start to build a top team at Newcastle.

We thought that would happen last summer but Mike Ashley again refused to spend the club’s money.

Newcastle fans – deserve a lot better

Another relegation would be another tragedy for the club and we’ve had too many of those over the last 10 years.

Keep believing – even though it may be (very) difficult at the moment.

Here are some tweets from Newcastle fans.

Next – not exactly a positive tweet.

And finally – if we finish 4th bottom – SUCCESS.

It’s hard to remain positive when it’s so difficult to remember what 3 points feel like.

tactically great but emotionally weak, in a team that is losing and confidence is low, players need built back up. thats not his strong point.

    prefers spanish speakers ?

he causes conflict, trying to get the best out of players, but what happens if it goes past the trying to get the best out of them and then gets to the point where he is just peeing players off.

i think we are getting the worst part of Rafa and not the good side, because our players are not at the level he needs.

There’s been managers I’ve despised as people. Sounness, Dalglish and Slug Sam as examples. Hated them before they came here. Hated them when they left, but whilst here I gave them my backing because I support Newcastle, not individuals.
Rafa is our manager and if you can’t live with that, tough shyte. Personalities don’t matter – which is why I’ve never let Ashley come between me and the club I love.
Nobody’s asking you to love him, just get behind him and do what fans do – support the team regardless.

Celtic about to end their winning streak. Commentators are saying they think he would like another crack at the PL. Speaking completely hypothetically, but if the sale doesn’t go through, and the club does somehow stay up, I would expect Benitez to walk at the end of the season. I doubt Rodgers would even cost £5 million a year in wages, so if Rodgers could get all the money the club generated—in that scenario—he may end up being linked with us in future. Personally I wanted Rodgers before he went to Celtic. Newcastle fans in all quarters would love his passing/attacking style.

Under ‘normal’ circumstances, whatever that is at our club, Rafa would have been sacked by now.

We have to stick by the bloke, even if we disagree with the way he uses his squad with the omission of some players and his continued use of the likes of Diame.

Ashley is a total nightmare, and is dragging his knuckles intentionally to put us in the best possible position for relegation as his final ‘up yours’ to the fans and city.

Awesome effort by the away support yet again yesterday, backing Rafa to the hilt…should have the media choking on their jellied eels!

Just caught up on MOTD and for a brief moment was cheering when DeBruyne was taken out by a ManU player (not very nice I know)

Oh goody he’ll miss our game I thought but he just got up and carried on as if it never happened.

Has to be Chelsea’s worst ever sale.

I see that most fans are sane then. No wonder Ed uses twitter, it’s a circus on here.

To those slating Rafa’s flops during last season….

    They were cheap.

    Look at the signings that DID come off,;

Ritchie, Gayle, Atsu, Clark and Murphy (Daryl).

All of them were instrumental in us getting back up at the first attempt…. Especially Gayle (23 goals), Ritchie (12 goals In the league) and Clark.

I’m certain had Rafa been given an amount which allowed us to compete in this league we would be doing just that, perhaps more.

Let’s face it, the underwhelming signings barely effected our season.

This season, he wasn’t allowed to transform a championship squad into a premier league one, in which he was under the impression that he would.

I think it’s unfair to slate him this season, he’s admitted to making mistakes but who could blame him? If you have shite tools to work with you are going to make mistakes. I see a man who is trying out his squad as best as he can, he’s attempted numerous formations, different personnel bar Mitrovic. It’s just not strong enough.

We as fans should know that and offer our full support rather then nit-picking every mistake he has made. We don’t know why Mitrovic isn’t playing but I’m certain once he has left in January we will find out.

I don’t think it comes under ego either, there is obviously an element of distrust regarding Mitro so he is not taking the risk. Before you come at me saying that he’s only had two red cards blah blah. For another season running he wasn’t available for us at the start of the season, when he was he came on during a game in which we were winning 2-0, he scores a goal and then boom, gets himself a three game ban after scoring. It’s so disappointing.

Rafa has is own way of managing clubs and it has got him the title of world class, yet we sit here and criticise him like we know best. Until we know all the stories with regards to members of our squad we shouldn’t sit here judging him. The man is trying! He could walk at any minute and I wouldn’t blame him.

Luckily for us the fans that go to the games appreciate him just as much as I do. I wonder why that ism

As long as the match going fans back Rafa, I don’t think he’ll give a toss what a few keyboard warriors say. Seriously, some of this bile aimed at the best manager we’ve had, or likely to have in years, is quite sad. He’s the manager, get over yourselves.

    How dare we YoungMag…

And just look at teams like Huddersfield and Brighton who doesn’t have a WC manager…look at their despair! Oh wait…

YoungMag…who cares if Rafa’s CV entails some huge clubs or whether he has titles to his name. A CV looks to the past…try look to the future!

    First 9 games 14 points
    Next nine games 1 point.
Same team and manager. So whats the difference? Nobody would swap our squad for Huddersfields at the start of the season.

Yes we have a Championship squad because we bought rubbish in the summer. Two or three quality signings would make a big difference but we bought, Merino excepted, half a dozen duds. Are we the only Championship squad? No. But are we playing the worst footy? Yes.

Too many willing to give players a chance. Like from the moment we were linked with Josiére it was obvious we were lining up a player who had absolutely nothing to offer this club. Then he scores a volley in training. Training and a few sing his praise. Enter Josiére into a competitive match, worst center forward in the league.

Lejeune, relatively unknown. Preseason friendly. Looks comfortable on the ball. Preseason games have no intensity. Competitive games, he’s been way off the pace. Could adapt in time but we as a premier league club are running outta time.

Concentrating on weak link players is a good way to deflect criticism from Rafa. We will judge Rafa when he is backed in the transfer market properly. Until then we have a squad and this is a squad which one can only criticize.

Will Kane and Ali get away with the dangerous leg breaking tackle attempts in full view of the cameras ? Retrospective action has been dished out to other so called lesser clubs..can the money clubs and English internationals get away with it ?

    Has Rooney got away
With his forearm smash / elbow in the face on Matt Ritchie ?

If one or two give the FA
Prem a call Monday …as customers of their product we can demand they look at it.

If any of the afore mentioned get away with the violent assaults on fellow workers in and at their place of work it will prove the FA are dishonest , corrupt.

The BBC and MOTD are a disgrace…while making sure Mitrovics waft was highlighted and giving the FA the tape/media, and playing it ad nuseam.. making sure Mitrovic
was banned ..they wave away two potential career ending leg breakers by Kane and Ali..two of the most arrogant B’stards in Football . Surely they can’t get away with the horror tackles against Manchester City . ?

If we fielded the strongest possible team of rafas signings it would look something like this:-
    Sets
    Yedlin, Clark, Lejuene, Manquillo
    Merino, Hayden
    Ritchie, Diame, Atsu
    Gayle

That is a very poor team, does Ashley trust him with any more money?
