When Mike Ashley said he wanted to sell the club quickly in October and have the deal completed before the end of the year – did any fans really think he would sell up quickly – given our experience of Mr. Ashley over the last 10 years?
The correct answer is no.
With Newcastle having lost 8 of the last 9 games it seems the club is burning while Mr. Ashley twiddles his thumbs on the potential takeover.
We could be in another relegation struggle (yes – another one) and it would be best if the ownership business is quickly sorted out.
If this drags on for the rest of the season it will make it extremely difficult for Rafa and the players to pull this season out of the fire.
Another relegation in May will be another terrible disaster for this club – it must not happen.
Mike Ashley – Newcastle owner
Mike Ashley is having a negative impact even as he says he wants to leave the club.
Here’s what some fans think about the delayed takeover and Mr. Ashley.
It is surely obvious to both parties in the protracted #NUFC takeover battle that the uncertainty has affected a struggling, impoverished team. If Ashley and Staveley’s lawyers can’t reach an agreement they should say so, for the asset they’re arguing over is diminishing daily.

Reading some of the reports through the weeks, it looks to me that
Mike Ashley wants to sell only the expenditure side of #NUFC (Transfers etc.)
and wants to keep the income side of #NUFC (free advertising, merchandising, catering etc.)

The current bottom five clubs spent as much money in the summer transfer window combined as Manchester United. City another £70m+ on top of that. You have to buy big players to win big games in the Prem. How did Mike Ashley get away with this for 10 years? Awful. #NUFC

I have a 5 year plan to make #NUFC a top club?. LIE.
Rafa can have all the money generated by the club for transfers?. LIE.
If someone want to buy the club to take it forward I won’t stand in their way… LIE & EXCUSE PENDING.

Sam is not exactly positive about a deal happening.
“according to reports”
Let’s face it. There’s f**k all going on.
January window will close with no additions, #nufc will release a statement saying sale of the club couldn’t be agreed and it’s off the market with Ashley remaining at the helm. Merry Xmas.

Well after totally f***king things up the first 52 times (and continually lowering the price of his investment) you’d have thought Mike Ashley would have learned. But no… “The billionaire businessman half wit” looks like he’s about to strike again. #NUFC

I feel like I need a good rant about Newcastle United and Mike Ashley but twitter doesn’t allow me enough characters??? #nufc

Been mulling this over. Ashley has kindly agreed to give Rafa 30 million in January according to some reports.
Is this not the 30 million Rafa has made in 3 transfer windows? Some pundits and media need to report some proper facts.#nufc

I’m sick of the takeover pish now….blatantly obvious Staveley wants to do business. Blatantly obvious Ashley is dragging it on and on….as per usual.
If it falls through hell not be arsed…thats the scary thing #nufc

Still no takeover news… everyone seemed it was done next week. Mike Ashley is a cancer #NUFC

The Staveley take over has already happened but is going to be announced on Christmas with the caption “Merry Christmas, Everyone ???? #NUFC” watch this space
— Dylan (@SimplyRolando) December 18, 2017
Happy Christmas Rafa. You still here Mr Ashley? #nufc

30million isn’t enough. Sick to death of this takeover talk if they wanted the club that much it would of been done before now. Playing with Newcastle’s future both Ashley and this pcp group. It’s not on! #nufc

If the takeover doesn’t happen now, how on earth can anybody still say Mike Ashley is a shrewd businessman? Absolute plonker for not taking that £250 million straight away #NUFC
