Another Ashley Created Mess At Newcastle – Another Relegation Threatens

The transfer window opens in just 12 days time, and we were hoping for some players coming in early next month.

But that’s unlikely to happen with the reports that Mike Ashley wants to get further along with talks on Newcastle’s takeover with Amanda Staveley’s PCP Partners group before deciding how much he wants to give to Mr. Benitez next month.

There has been news of £30M being made available, but with every defeat, relegation becomes a growing and negative issue in the takeover talks.

And we don’t expect much progress to be made over the Christmas period.

Mike Ashley – another self-created mess

The truth is nobody knows exactly the status of the talks, but the news that filters out is not good with the two parties still not being able to agree on a price.

Amanda Staveley obviously doesn’t want to buy a club that could end up in the Championship in May.,

And the latest news is not only does she think there is a 65% chance of that happening but that Newcastle’s value would decrease by £125M if we were relegated again.

This is now getting eerily similar to what happened back in 2008 at this time when Ashley had tried to sell the club but didn’t get one offer, and he pulled the club off the market.

If that happens, Newcastle would be doomed.

We were relegated back in 2009 with the club in complete turmoil.

It’s not nearly as bad now thanks mainly to the steadying influence of Rafa Benitez, although pundits like Richard  Keys are trying to upset the apple cart.

He’s blaming Rafa for our troubles and saying stupid things – like it has nothing to do with the owner.

Remember Rafa got £19M net to spend in the summer.

This takeover has also affected the form of the Newcastle team.

Ashley announced he would sell the club in October and our results have fallen off a cliff since then – although we did have injuries to Lascelles and Merino at that time.

Once again there are questions about the future of the club with nobody really knowing where this potential takeover will lead us.

There’s one thing for certain – Ashley has caused this mess and it’s all happened since last May when everything looked so positive.

And his actions this season could lead to yet another relegation on his watch.

The fact that Rafa Benitez doesn’t have a clue as to how much he will get in the January transfer market is damning.

You can never accuse Mike Ashley of having any leadership ability.

But unless this takeover is sorted out soon and the uncertainty put to an end it will continue to have a negative impact on our season.

We cannot have that in what is such an important season for the club.

Rafa is also partly to be blamed for his rubbish transfer movements.

I mean Murphy for 12m and joselu for 5m. That’s 17m down the drain this season. Murphy looks like a 5m player at best, and joselu 800k. We got ripped off in both the deals.

Sels for 4m. lejeune 8.8m doesn’t look comfortable or settled.
    Disposing Krul was a mistake.
Hanley 5.5m but looked like 1m defender in the championship.

Together with not playing mbemba who did better and has more ability than manquillo. And refusing the play mitrovic, even though joselu has proven to be rubbish.

So please, rafa is not immune to any blame, and he is just as culpable for this mess.

So that’s total about 35million of rubbish signings by Rafa. Something which we can’t afford in Ashley reign.

Rafa has wasted every penny given to him on rubbish signings. The squad is far weaker than the one he inherited and his tactics, team selections and subs are a joke. Other than his reputation, he brings nothing to us, time to go Rafa!

Very interesting that Richard Keys has chosen this exact moment in time to express his opinion on Rafa,
Of course it will have nothing to do with the fact that he’s a client of Keith Bishop Associates which Mike Ashley just happens to be a major shareholder in .

These facts would obviously have no bearing whatsoever on his unbiased opinion ???

I said this the other day if this deal does not go through there’s only one outcome doomed back to the championship where as it stands we have a team to compete at that level but I don’t think rafa will stick around for the second time and we will not find it as easy to get straight back up leaving Ashley with a club that’s worth half of what it is now. I’ve supported newcastle through thick and thin (a lot more thin) and I will be supporting them a long time after Ashley has took his money and run as we say newcastle United will never be defeated and the sooner this poison is gone the better.

Getting stupid now this takeover talk!! This needs to be settled now it is either sold or not. If we don’t beat West Ham we are done for regardless of this takeover. Totally agree with Mbemba and Mitrovic as they could of atleast salvaged another 4-6 points. I think Rafa is sort of on a strike by trying to show Mike Ashley he doesn’t have a squad but it seems to have come to at the expense of a relegation battle now and the only ones that will suffer are us fans. Rafa can just jump ship including some players. I hope I’m wrong! This whole takeover talk really needs to be sorted now

Any & every manager can make mistakes just like we all can – at the end of the day we are hiuman. I feel the siging of Joselu was that was all that was available at the funds he had! Perhaps it would have been better to have kept Daryl Murphy here? The young Murphy is making good progress and it’s too early to be critical of him! Sadly Mitro has to go – we need the funds to put towards a faster more productive striker. I do feel our plight has been exerabated by the loss of Dummit and Lascelles and earlier on Gale. Had those three been available all the time we would have been comfortable in higher mid table!

ilovetoon8788 when we got relegated rafa bought players to get us back up on the understanding he would be given the money to spend in the premier league to at least compete. As we all now know he spent more money trying to get us back up then he has trying to keep us in the premier league never mind trying to compete. As the saying goes pay with peanuts get monkeys.

    Ilovetoon8788,
Do you ever and I mean have anything positive to say about a team you claim to love ?
You along with hail wor Ashley and catchy are the main reason I no longer bother much with thus blog and never on match days after reading some the utter bile getting posted ,even when we’re winning games .
As the glass empty / full things goes would you even have a glass ?
You must have Samaritans on speed dial
No manager is ever above critisism by Christ man it’s like you and Munster simply will a defeat or an early goal to spill your guts and demand his head .
Who would you have to replace an elite coach. And someone who has pretty much re United this club from what he walked into .
If anyone has the right to say Get @@cked about his shoddy treatment it’s actually Rafa .
But he didn’t he stayed with us and kept his part of the deal.
Maybe just for once we should show him the same courtesy …or are you happy to see tony pulls in the dugout ?
Jarra mick exactly what would you have used the money ( sweet f a ) for back in May with a massively inflated market ?
Even with the benefit of hindsight ?
    I am all ears ……
