Good News – Newcastle Make First January Signing

Newcastle almost signed 21-year-old Chelsea midfielder Kenedy on loan in late August, but Chelsea manager couldn’t bring in cover for him, so the deal was called off.

But the Mail is now reporting a loan deal for the rest of the season has been agreed between Newcastle and Chelsea, and that’s good news.

Good news because we have a talented young player coming in and good news because it shows Rafa and Lee Charnley are trying to do deals now – so players are available early in January.

Newcastle will pay a loan fee for the Brazilian, and if he plays well for us, it wouldn’t surprise us if Rafa wants to sign him full time in the summer.

Kenedy – on loan for rest of the season

As expected Kenedy has appeared only 3 times for the Blues this season in the EFL Cup, so he hasn’t played much but was kept on for cover in case some of Chelsea’s top stars were injured.

Kenedy can play at left-back, on the left wing or as a left wing-back, so that’s a decent signing for Newcastle – at least we will have one player coming in next month.

Kenedy has played 7 times for the Brazilian U20 side and has been at Chelsea since the summer of 2015 and has played 25 times for the first team with 3 goals.

He’s young, but this lad has class and massive potential.

Comments welcome.

A young unproven kid with next to no premier league experience, is that really what we need, if we are to go for young then it has got to be Like Shaw, at least he has proved that he can play at PL level and with about 100 PL games behind him he does have some experience.

If we’d got Luke Shaw someone else would have moaned. Some people just love to moan.

I honestly don’t know much about him but realistically he is the type of player who will be willing to come here – Luke Shaw would be great but he won’t want to come to us at the moment!

    Yeah bring em in!
The place needs a real freshen up to tackle the New Year.
Rafa and the team have had a good long look at who fits for us and who we can realistically get. Time for them to deliver right now!

If we get Kenedy and that is all we get for the left side then I would be disappointed, I know a lot of people don’t but I do like Dummett, however I cannot deny that his injury record isnt the best so another LB is essential and higher up the pitch, Chistian Atsu, he is dreadful, how he got a contract when he was so poor last season baffled me at the time and it still does, Kenedy may prove to be a great signing, none of us know as he is unproven, and in our situation I’d rather go for the safe good signing who will do a job rather than gamble on a potentially great signing.

We have to be realistic as to who we can get. We aren’t in the position either financially or in the league to be able to attract proven, experienced Premier League players.

Luke Shaw would be great but he’s on huge money, is now getting a run in Man United’s team and playing well. Never going to happen.

Players like Kennedy are our best bet, they have good pedigree, young and hungry enough to have an impact (hopefully), already settled and used to England and it’s football. Granted he hasn’t played much but he’s trained, travelled and should be up to speed.

Signings like him, Ings, potentially Walcott etc are the best we can hope for as it stands. We need players with something to prove. I’m good with this.

The window hasn’t even opened yet. What is the point of moaning now about who we might not get.

I disagree mate, I think that Shaw would jump at the chance to come here, as poor as we are, we are still a high profile PL club and we do have a world cup coming up next summer, if he stays at Man U he watch’s the WC on telly, if he comes here there is a good chance that he plays in the WC, he needs to be in the first team showcasing himself, he could that that with us.

He’ll go straight in and improve us. It’d be great if we can get him in to train with the squad right now, to give him a couple of weeks work with the group before his debut. Speaks volumes though that deals get done when there’s a real urgency, and heals are dragged otherwise. Here’s here to help salvage a season, not make it.

No doubt whoever we do get will be roundly slaughtered and written off as a bargain basement, useless no hoper before they pull the shirt on (by a section of the club’s supporters).

I don’t know how much he is on, but at times the parent club do pay a part of their wages, and if he wants to be on that WC plane then he may have to make a sacrifice, but this is all meaningless because it appears as if Kenedy will be the one to come in, if it is Kenedy then good luck to him, I hope he takes the league by storm.

If Kenedy is coming then , the Chinese
cannot be involved in our takeover
He was sent home from Chelsea’s
tour of China in the Summer for
    grossly insulting the poor dears
