Rafa Convinced Newcastle Will Avoid Relegation – We Have A Lot More Time – And Players Who Care

Rafa has been talking to his players about the terrible run we have been on since we beat Crystal Palace 1-0 on October 21st.

Just one point from nine games but in those eight defeats we have lost five by a single goal and haven’t had too much luck either.

What we need is to get another win and that will give confidence to our players and we have to also remember it’s a young squad.

It’s very easy on a bad spell to get used to losing – but we don’t think that will happen to a Rafa Benitez coached side and his experience in the last 10 games of the relegation season two years ago will stand him in good stead.

Rafa Benitez – talking to his players

In that season Rafa got just one point from the first 4 games in charge but then three wins and three draws in the final six games – 13 points from 10 games but it wasn’t enough.

We are hoping Newcastle can soon go on a good run and get way above the relegation.

That’s a hope (and a prayer!).

Here’ some of what Rafa said about our position in the league during his press conference today:

“I have been talking to the players about our position and our bad run. We were doing well, but now we are in a bad position and in a bad run.”

“It’s a bad run but some of these games we have lost 1-0 and been unlucky. We have to learn from them. We can’t give up.”

“But we are so close to getting results and we are confident we will stay in the Premier League”

“When I decided to come here the team was in a very bad position with just 10 games to play. Now we have a lot more time, and a dressing room who cares and are working so hard”

“We will have some time on the training pitch but we will give the players time to be with their families.”

Jail i saw your point earlier. I’m sorry but the spurs hammering was a freak one off and players and pottechino subsequently said it. Besides trouncing qpr we haven’t come near repeating it. Well done to all concerned but not indicative of a brio and style ever associated with us

I’m finding it hard to believe Rafa doesn’t know how much he’s got or what’s going on.

Read a couple of bits now in the Chronicle which seems to corroborate what our own blog sources have said that the deal is done in essence and now is just finalising and awaiting the right time to announce. The former NUST chairman featured in the Chrinicle yesterday mentions, having spoken to people very close to the deal, states they are talking about being very active in the next 3 windows – to me that is suggesting January.

I am hoping he is just being coy when he’s being asked directly by the media about transfers and we have strong options in motion, because we need them.

Until Ian put it down authoritatively in print i never realised what a sham the man Benitez is. I can’t believe I’ve been taken in by him winning

Just to disguise his awful talent spotting, poor buying and emotionless msn-management!

How could such a charlatan have wormed his way into our club????
