Rafa’s Comments On Sky Sports After Thrilling Win At West Ham – Video

Rafa was pleased to get our first win in 10 games today with a brilliant 3-2 scoreline at West Ham this afternoon in front of over 56.000 fans.

But when Andy Carroll came on late in the game he caused some problems for his hometown club, and it could have been that the Hammers would get the equalizer.

And after hitting the bar and the post in this game, it would have been just the Magpies recent bad luck to concede.

But we didn’t and hung on for the win and we give our players enormous credit for their performance today and make no mistake about it – we deserved all 3 points.

Rafa Benitez – waves to the 3,000 traveling fans after the win today

We are hoping this is a watershed game for Newcastle and we now need more wins on the board.

Here’s the video on Sky Sports with Rafa Benitez after the game.

And hopefully, this will put to rest some of the daft criticisms of the manager after we won this game with a weakened side.

I’m looking forward to waking up tomorrow morning early – and realize we won the game today – fabulous.

I noticed on that link that Jane posted on previous thread, the teams that are bottom had a minimum of 18 points. The teams down there at the moment have slightly less this season

    George caulkin response:

    George Caulkin
Their most qualified manager for years came to a failing club which had been belittled by its ownership & talked about size, history & potential. He stayed after relegation. He got them up. He makes genuine efforts to engage with fans/city. He takes on Ashley. It means something.

Was because of this poor excuse of a journalist posting this rubbish:

    Matt Law
    Matt Law
Newcastle fans singing Rafa Benitez’s name. It’s like he never took them down and hasn’t failed to get a PL win in nine games.

Harsh, I know but I don’t really get the Rafa love-in from the Newcastle fans.

Great win, well done to rafa and the lads. Mike Williamson, it may be ne u were referring to. Saivet was good in France and I always thought he looked OK from the bit I saw of him. I hear kamara said we were playing good football. That’s encouraging, I gave said before that our football this season is fine but some of the selections and stubbornness were stupid. We deffo deserved something off Everton too. A sickened to give fat Sam points he didn’t deserve. I was waaay wrong on pardew at West brom because I though he would give them a lift for a few months. Can’t wait for the 1 hour sky prog tonight. Christmas pressies being wrapped, a curry, plenty vino and a win on the box, perfect. Happy Christmas to my Geordie brothers 🙂

Shire that probably means it is likely that fewer points than usual will be need to stay up.

Personally, I find it difficult to attribute blame to our players for lacking in quality. If they don’t try, then it’s a free for all and they’re open to criticism. What we have this season is a team of workers that lack quality so I for one can never criticise them. Others are more open to it however and will criticise as they see fit and they’re entitled to do so. I don’t understand it really but it is what it is.

One of the reasons why ive actually not criticised diame like a lot have is because he’s past it and over the hill, that’s obvious. However, even though he looks like he’s coasting the guy works for us as today showed. Don’t forget the magnitude of today’s game, it was huge! He stepped up, as did every one else, and it’s not the first time either. Big games last year, Huddersfield away and Brighton home were a couple that come to mind.

Great to listen to Rafas presser on Friday, he totally understands that our four wins were against shite teams. Had people like me thinking we were going to have one of those freakishly good seasons. He seems confident that we’ve had a bad run and with new players we’ll get a big lift. Unflappable confidence. Very different to the delusions of Carver and McLaren and the unblinkered arrogance of Pardew.
