Newcastle Fans Pay Homage To Henri Saivet – He Could Be Like A New Signing

Both Henri Saivet and Mo Diame were included in the five players transfer-listed last week.

And then Rafa produced a shock yesterday with his central midfielders either injured or suspended he had to start both players in central midfield at West Ham.

We thought we had no hope of winning but these two lads got the job done and both scored a goal in the 3-2 win.

In particular, Saivet has played just once before this season in the League Cup against Nottingham Forest and at that time he was our Man of the Match.

Every time we’ve seen Saivet play in the first team he’s done well for Newcastle.

Henri Saivet – like a new signing

But Rafa doesn’t seem to rate him but with more performances like this – his transfer fee should rise above £5M.

Both players are from Senegal so they know each other well – as Rafa has pointed out after the game.

Here are some typical tweets from the very appreciative Newcastle fans – we concentrate mostly on Saivet since he’s been out in the cold at Newcastle for a long time and yet his attitude is first class.

The following goes for me too yesterday – I thought we had no chance of winning with Saivet and Diame in central midfield – wrong again.
It also shows how good a manager Rafa is.

We play Manchester City On Wednesday … not Boxing Day.

And finally it’s worth watching Saivet’s interview on nufcTV after the game – he’s such a smashing lad – and a top class professional – here it is.

Ambition and Nufc have not been mention with a positive spin for many years now as we all know. And to be honest mate I think it would take time to adjust to our new found fame.
Far to long now we have had to hitch a trip on Catchys ship of doom to catch the Strays and bottom feeders to keep the club afloat lol

Can’t wait for the next couple of games now. Atmosphere on Wednesday should be special, the Man C team are fantastic to watch which is exactly what Diame will be doing if he plays CM against them.
He is so slow to react that he looks my age (46) and I said that right before he scored yesterday so this post is my best attempt at superstition. Hopefully I’ll be massively proved wrong about him and he’ll get three on Wednesday and run like Yedlin!

Good “bottle” shown by Saviet yesterday after his bloomer. His goal should erase the thoughts of his earlier mistake. Thought he did OK.

Saviet needs to be taken off the transfer list and given every chance to build on his NUFC career. Save his suggested fee and focus on Striker signings and that international level keeper.
Saviet should now play against City – Shelvey on the bench but his days may be numbered.

Makes you wonder why he hasn’t been given a chance before now if his attitude has been good, he’s a good technical player and he has some pedigree?

I know a Premier League scout and I can tell you 100% we didn’t even get as far as talking to Abraham.

“And the report adds that Benitez will listen to offers for five senior players – Henry Saivet, Jack Colback, Massadio Haidara, Ronaldo Aarons and Mo Diame. As Newcastle fans will attest, none of these names will come as a surprise.2

His passing is far too sloppy to play the cm role. Seems like a great lad and has good physical attributes but can’t be trusted to play cm long term for us.
