Dubious Report That Newcastle Takeover Is Now Complete

There’s a report in the Croydon Advertiser today which has a headline that says the Newcastle takeover is complete.

We know there were some Newcastle fans who thought (hoped?) the deal was all but done and it could be announced today – Christmas day.

But the Croydon report is misleading and it never really addresses what is in the headline.

Their reporters say what they think may happen over Christmas and in the new year in the Premier League.

One talks about how the Newcastle potential takeover by Amanda Staveley is dragging on and has affected the Newcastle results.

And they go on to say how things at Newcastle will only get worse with the takeover hanging over the club.

Merry Xmas to you too.

Ms. Amanda Staveley – potential new owner of Newcastle

We agree the takeover is affecting the performances on the pitch and it would be much better if there was more certainty on what’s going on – if a deal could be agreed.

So most Newcastle fans will think the deal has been done today if they see the Croydon headline – but as far as we can tell there is no new news on the takeover today.

But things have been advancing over the last week or so with Staveley raising her offer closer to the £300M that  Mike Ashley wants, but relegation still remains the problem with no agreement on what happens if we get relegated.

What we need is a winning run soon and move up the league table and that may entice Ms. Staveley to drop the relegation clause that she has in her current offer.

That could do it.

What do you think?

Comments welcome.

Amanda had a sleep over here last night as there was no room at the Premier Inn ( other hotel brands were full also ) and seems to be enjoying life on Tyneside.

The Three Wise Men who are known as the biblical Magpies (sometimes abbreviated to Magi) were seen at an Indian restaurant recently have yet to arrive but may have been slightly delayed due to negotiations with target transfer signings Derek Gold a left back , Frankie Sense a goalkeeper and Myrrh who apparently is one for the future but a promising striker.

What I can reveal is that Amanda is the mysterious Secret Santa that we hear so much about and is working hard on a major present project for the New Year news of which may have slipped out but I am unable to disclose more at this stage.

If I have anymore news I’ll post it here but in the meantime look for the sign of the Blue Star which will appear in the sky soon to signal the arrival of the new leader.

    Happy Christmas to all

Well no early NUFC present and nothing under the tree this morning ( other than the family ones of course) so looks like have to settle for a late one – it’s the thought that counts. Maybe the Croydon Advertiser has a scoop all the other papers out on the pop?
    Merry Christmas all

If you believe the takeover has effected
    players performances
The display against Wet Spam shows
that they have heard something and it’s good.

    Dubious reports? Dubious?

Shire, Hibbit, Bambams, Dubai and Sparky…. You’d have every right to resemble such a slur.

Given the silence, I think and hope that we’ve every reason to believe that the deal’s with the FA for potential owner approval.

And, Rafa referred to January 20 as the date when he’d like incoming transfer business to be concluded – why specifically the 20th rather than say the third week in January which is looser time frame. Could 20 January be the parties target for completion? We can but wait.

I read this article. Full title of article was something along the lines of ‘newcastle take over complete – Croydon reporters predict news headlines for 2018’. Pure click bait toss. This is a non article about a non article. Merry Christmas though 🙂
