Frustrated Fans Take To Twitter After Latest Poor Result

Disappointed Newcastle fans took to Twitter after the poor result yesterday.

It was everything from we can win at Stoke tomorrow to needing some investment next month to get some new players in.

And what’s the real status of the takeover talks after the Sun said they were close to breaking down?

Things are not good at the moment but a win at Stoke tomorrow would do wonders to raise the spirits of Newcastle fans.

Rafa Benitez – on the touchline against Brighton

We need wins, wins and more wins and son too!

Howay the Lads!!

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Comments welcome.

Rafa needs to keep this squad intact for next seasons promotion push.
    Pathetic all round.

I have been knocked by many about my views on Rafa, can these people still defend him. What does he do in training all week to produce displays like this one against Brighton.
I know Ashley takes most of the blame but come on Rafa look in the mirror and say to yourself “my tactics could be better”

As a football fan kimbo what tactics did you think Rafa got wrong? Did you see any areas we could have exploited that were a weakness with Brighton? If so what players would have been able to exploit that?

Rafa is a major part of the takeover , without him it’s over

I agree we should be beating Brighton at home and he should of done better this season however give him 3 transfer windows with a little bit of money and judge him then

Re Rafa, if the stories are correct, which they possibly are think in this, if Rafa is pushed he walks away with a nice lump sum, rumoured to be 5 million, like wise if he walks away he has to hand 5 million over to Ashley.

Sorry but Rafa has totally un-stabalised the squad, there is now no pattern of play, no one knows whether they are playing 2 games running.

43% possession yesterday at home, take away the delay in Darlow clearing the ball, or the sideways passing between Lascelles, Clark and Dummett at it would be a lot less.

One or two things said about Rafa, at Real Madrid, Liverpool etc, maybe are true, re stubbornness.

In five of Ashleys ten seasons we have been relegated or been in a to the wire relegation battle. Two seasons where we displayed a half a season of relegation form. We have had one good season in the PL under him which wasn’t planned and infuriated him so much he nearly got us relegated the season after. The bloke has been an unmitigated disaster for us.

A very painful game to watch. 2 teams cancelled each other out. Brighton looked dangerous from corners, otherwise offered nothing. We struggled to put together any forward passes, so reverted to sideways, backwards, to keeper, lump forward. Still should/could have won, with Gayle, Hayden and Merino close, in second half. A point is better than losing 0-1, to a header from a corner, no doubt. The cause of our situation is obvious. 😮

How about, and this is a thought, once the takeover happens, rafa leaves and we appoint Thomas Tuchel to spend the untold millions that will be coming our way?

If the comments above are a sample of what has been going on since the start of yesterday’s game, I for one am not going back to read any more. Sitting through that was more than enough, without listening to the versions of the drama queens, WUMs and mackems!
Must be an idea that true fans just avoid the comments’ section during match time and watch/listen to the match? Engaging with them just encourages them. They are truly pathetic.

BTW, for the mackems – You had 1 attempt all game – a header – v 22 from Forest. Gary Neville doesn’t watch Championship, especially the worst teams in the Championship – nor do most pundits – but Micky Gray said on C5 that it was all about the 3 points, to justify the shyte your team displayed. Forest once were kings of Europe, but they ain’t now -get my my drift? You know who you all are, on here! 😉

Long time supporter. Things will get much better. Yesterday was negative but four points from next two games and were back on the survival course.
Anyone watching the toon for as long as me has been on a journey.

Between relegations to the second tier, constant boardroom infighting and mass fan protests, almost dropping to the third tier for the first time in our history, dwindling attendances, violence and racism in and around the ground, and having all our best local talent being repeatedly poached from our squad, The years of 1979 to 1991 for Newcastle United constituted an almost constant shit-show that I had the misfortune of catching the tail-end of.
The Mike Ashley years in general, and Rafa Benitez’ reign as manager in particular, don’t even register on the same scale. Stick with Rafa and let’s get more experience into the squad.

The benefits of Rafa’s rotation will show when during the last part of the season many teams competing with us to stay up – we are one of 11 – will be without major players, due to injuries and fatigue.
Mind, haven’t noticed Hughes and Stoke getting any stick for losing 5-0 v Chelski, whilst playing his reserve team.

We need some quality in very quickly. We are a very poor young side. If the hierarchy play silly buggers up until the end of January it will be fatal. We need a keeper, CF and CAM that will fit straight in to the team.

Theres always moments that haunt you after a season. Our last relegation season, it was the image of Siem De Jong heading into the side netting from point blank range V Villa…this season there are way too many moments. From Ayoze toe poking into our net, Clark losing his man for Bournemouths winner, Gayle diving vs City, Elliot spilling to Rooney…too many, and that cant be a good thing, especially with half a season to go

The Newcastle city motto should not be

    “Fortiter Defendit Triumphans”

    but

    “Way OTT – yet again”

The holiday season is notorious for crap
performances. I do worry how unsupportive
a section of the SJP thousands can rapidly
    become.
It’s as if Mo Farah is running the 10,000 metres
and the crowd boo him for being near the back
of the pack after 2 laps.

Rafa said he wanted 20 points by today

    He’s only got 19 !!!!!

    What a miserable failure !!!

    FANS ?

‘Udders had 3 shots in 90 v Burnley, at home.
Must have been worse than us?
    ‘Udders fans complaining?
Before anyone says we are NUFC – we are the same as ‘Udders and Brighton. Remember when we went on a bad run in the Champo and fell behind them? 💡 Cut and paste your comments from then!
Manu and ‘Udders clearly trying to nick our spot on MoTD! 💡 😆
It was a very poor game. We got 1 point. Wanted 3. Certainly could not afford to lose.
Get used to it – Rafa has told us this is how it will be until May. Quit whining, or quit watching 💡

I’m almost at a complete loss to try and understand and explain how a team could put in such an abject, lacklustre and pitiful performance.

With previous managers there would have been the inevitable comments that the manager has lost the dressing room. I’m not sure that is true with Rafa but how can anyone explain the almost complete lack of interest and motivation of the players, Lascelles exempted.

Therefore, was this a one off fluke that so many players were ‘not at the races’ yesterday or was it that Rafa is lacking in some aspect of football management that he cannot inspire and motivate his players ?

Or is it a change in tactics and formation ? I wonder whether his decision to change from the 4-2-3-1 formation that was successful earlier in the season to the current 4-4-2 formation with Joselu as the number 10 is the reason ?

I suppose the next few games (how often have we said this !) will tell us.

We were playing really well for a while there, around half a dozen games in.

    Elliott
    Manqillo Lascelles Clark Mbemba
    Hayden, Merino
    Ritchie, Perez, Atsu
    Joselu

That 11 worked for us. We abandoned the Perez Joselu partnership, for Gayle, and it hasn’t worked. I think a return to that 11, or at least that spine is warranted.

In response to Dubai Mickey I said this can’t all be blamed on the owner, we are not getting the best out of these players.
On reflection is it even worth having that debate.
Is it worth discussing tactics, subs, the manager etc.
We are in a totally false situation created by the owner who is negotiating the sale of the club.

Thing is though the waiting is nearly over. I personally will know all I need to know by next Friday. If it’s the same old same old then nothing has changed at the club in my opinion.

I asked a few days ago. It was open to response from all, including kimbo. What do you actually get out of spewing out constant negative criticism, whining away, never saying anything positive and never saying anything actually worthy of debate? I really do not get it. Please enlighten me. If you can actually give me a sensible response/reason, fair enough. My take is that the ones at this constantly are not Toon fans, at all, most likely being fans of the Doomed Village, doon the road. That’s my opinion, which I’m entitled to, before your abuse starts.
Strange that the vast majority of these posts are barely legible, too! 😆

The holiday period does not help Rafa’s planning with rest being viewed the priority over training.
Shelvey should start he did well with so little movement off the ball. Rafa seemed to settle for not losing which has happened at the death in a number of home games of late.
In my experience there’s nothing like a few new additions to the squad to freshen things up and shake off the negativity.
I’m with Sing keep the faith. Forget the aggro on here and just be positive get behind your team or sod off.

    Jail,

‘..We need some quality in very quickly…’

Can you buy quality in the January transfer window ?

I suppose you can if you have £75 million spare for one player as Liverpool had and the possibility of playing in the Champions League and not facing a relegation battle.

    Posada,
Throughout the last ten years of JfK, Dennis Wise, Dirk Llambias, Alan bloody Pardew, JfK and Steve head in hands McLaren there has been one constant in this whole sorry shambles.
The owner again deliberately set out to provide the bear minimum to help us survive this season despite it nearly biting him on the arse twice before. Money will be spent in January, if it had of been spent in the summer as promised we could be ten points better off. There would be no need to haggle over relegation clauses in the takeover and all would be well. There really is only one person to blame for this.
