Benitez Pleased With Great Win – Our Players Worked Very Hard – BBC Video

Rafa gave his interview on BBC after the game, but anybody looking at this interview without the sound would think we had lost the game.

But Rafa’s words were that he was pleased with the work-rate of his players, and he also thought the Stoke players were giving their best too.

Rafa also thought we should have been awarded a penalty when Dwight Gayle seemed to be fouled in the penalty area in the second half but surprise, surprise – we didn’t get it.

Rafa Benitez – always on an even keel whatever the result

Remember when you watch this interview we actually won the game with Rafa almost in the exact same somber mood whether we win, lose or draw.

Didn’t you read Ed’s plea for decency on the Blog?

Carry on with posts like yours on the previous thread and you’ll be another one banned!

What a difference a day makes!

Wasn’t at the game but BBC commentary suggested we played well and deserved the win.

Seems we can only win with Perez in the team! …Who’d have thought that!

Great result…relative peace on the blog and all of sudden the world’s a better place

In Rafa I trust 🙂 🙂 …even if don’t understand why he does half of what he does!! 🙂 🙂

What a fantastic win. Great three points and the best thing that’s happened to me this year. Apart from the win what me feel even better as an unashamed Rafalite was the way 3200 supporters constantly chanted “Rafaels black and white army” through out the game.

This says everything about people who attend games and those that don’t.

Prior to the match (which I missed to see Paddington 2 – recommend) I had two distinct thoughts:
    1) perhaps Rafas over use of some players, like Joselu, is because they are longer term prospects and whilst we pay for their poor performances now, they will eventually come good. Plus selecting a consistent starting eleven, barring injuries, has a greater chance of success rather than constant change of tactics and personal.
    2) the strikers and attacking four are not really providing much of a threat but the only alternative is to play Perez up front and/or Atsu as a second striker.

I just wish I had had time to document the above before family duty called, but I just dismissed it as pointless day dreaming.

Notice the blog was in good form from early morning ..everyone being respectful to each other . Before the match. All day…

Despite you still not accepting your moderation I know it’s a better place because you have cleaned your act up ..accept it ..we are not putting up with low life attacks on others and go back and read Ed’s request. Your still Nashing your teeth ..let it go man . Good luck.

The way Ashley’s treated the club and insulted its fans, don’t you think reciprocation is understandable? I’m sure you’ll agree that foul language is inappropriate though?

the good atmosphere and decent way people are talking to each other now is most probably because of Ed’s Request..have some respect man ..

I was just doing what I thought was the decent thing to do despite your personal attacks on me ..before you were moderated. Blame anyone but yourself, your own actions got you moderated , moderated . Let it go and behave in future.

The difference in #nufc with Lascelles and without is stark. Since he returned: Two clean sheets, two wins, 7 points from 15 (inc games v Arsenal/Man C). Some captain, @Lascelles16.

Lol, carragher praising Everton for staying in the game and hoping to nick a goal. You always get a chance late on apparently.

You really couldn’t make this stuff up, these pundits really have no shame whatsoever.

As it was a toon game we all know it could have gone either way, by luck, bad officials or a fluke shot like against Arsenal. Over the moon with the win and really pleased for Diame who I have heavily criticised lately, he was great today, has he finally found his feet in the team? Not sure yet but he did us proud today. Great for Darlow too, should give him some confidence for the next game. Great start to the new year.
