Delighted Newcastle Fans Flood To Twitter – “What An Emotional Rollercoaster It Is Supporting This Club”

It was a massive 1-0 win today at Stoke and just to put things in perspective – over the holiday period we have collected two aways wins and a home draw for 7 points – that’s after we had gone one point in the previous nine games – so things may be improving.

Stoke City were poor in this game until after Newcastle scored the go-ahead goal on 73 minutes as Perez flicked the ball into the net.

And then it was the Newcastle defense – looking solid again – with Karl Darlow making two excellent point-blank saves – that held on to get the win.

Karl will be the hero tonight but the lads played so much better than they did just two days ago and it was an excellent team display.

Newcastle fans are upbeat to say the least and we have to agree with one Newcastle fan – Scott Walker – who says

“What a bloody emotional rollercoaster it is supporting this club.”

Yes – it certainly is but it’s great when we actually win!

Ayoze Perez and Dwight Gayle – celebrate winning goal

Yes – it sure is!!!

Pleeeeeeease……. Can we look forward to hearing of early and significant signings and to top it all, that Ashley’s gone?

Now that would really get the year off to a great start.

    Toon in cheek.

Thanks for your support and telling one particular poster how it really is. Brilliant.

The website has been superb today.. doesn’t take much but those that don’t like it can’t see the bigger picture or take it in and defend themselves by blaming anyone but themselves..all they think about after being called out for constant abuse of others is passing the blame for their actions .

They think twice before hitting the submit button after a bit of kind moderation.

They sit there cursing and Nashing of teeth can be heard clearly. Foaming at the mouth is another trait of the angry man.

I thought he was excellent but his job was made easier by Diames donkey work – winning the ball and giving it to him in space. Every time diame got the ball in the middle the first thing he did was look for Shelvey.

Have to say the lads played well Today, very good win. Also i’m not the biggest Diame fan but he put a good shift in Today for once. Looked like he actually wanted to play and got stuck in which i’ve not seen from him all season. Well played lads

Could Diame finally be getting match fitness? He’s been good last couple of games. He lacks mobility these days but his stamina is epic. Never stopped. Wish he was a little better on the ball though.

Shelvey looked better today as well. He still struggles when we are under pressure but he always looks for a positive pass, takes risks and can split the lines and spread the play in an instant and it helps us when we don’t carry the ball well to be able to work
    Up the pitch.

Yeah, maybe we are seeing the rewards of a finally fit Diame and he certainly deserves some credit. It’s no coincidence that he has completed 3 x full 90 minutes for us in his last 3 games ( I think?) for the first time since we signed him. He was always running out of steam after an hour…

well done Darlow, best game in NUFC shirt ?

    well done perez great finish

well done Yedlin. great tackle on Shaq early on, which put him off his game,

even though it was a win, i think the tactics were wrong, Atsu at 10, didn’t work. very strange subs , always took the wrong person off. murphy might have got an assist, but he was a passenger for 89 mins like most of them out there.

    Stoke were dreadful

What a start to the new year, absolutely outstanding team performance. No one can accuse rafa that he is not getting every ounce of talent out the squad or there not playing for him now. Had perez scored from 6 yards against huddersfield another point. Had lejeune not given away the silly penalty we would have won at southampton. Had we switched on for the last kick of the game against Bournemouth thats another point. Had shelvey not got sent off against spurs there may have been another point there. Had darlow not messed up against Leicester and Everton thats at least another two points. Thats at least 7 points there and safety as good as assured. Given that this is pretty much a championship side its a real testament as to what rafa can do, so just imagine what he could do with a bit of backing and few quality players. The mind boggles. Happy New year everyone. HWTL

Was good to see that the game was more entertaining than this blog today.
Mostly I stroll forth and back since its kind of boring to see other teams rolling the ball, but today we was the better team. So I simply didnt found any time to stroll apart from ht and ft.
So all kudos to Rafa for tonight. Hope is that we can see this more often forward.

Hope Ayoze gave Rafa something to think about when it comes to strikers spot btw.
Think he was more of a threat in one game than Joselu has been all season as a lone striker.

    And Darlow as MoM.
Who would have betted on that before the match.:)

    Marton..point taken

But it is the wums and those who attack others with it I was giving a heads up to ..exactly what you say.

Bad language on here is OK if it’s abbreviated..and it usually is …but if yused in a context that goes along with attacking others it’s not cricket mate

Its hard getting through to some people

I think reading through all of today’s comments the blog is now a sweet place to be ..It’s changed a little and it didn’t take much effort on my part.

I just imagined ..One day Ed getting fed up with the abuse of others on here and deciding to close the website ..in light of how he’s kept it going through series bad health do we not owe it to him to keep it all respectfully as he requests of us ?

It’s the least I could do to help although I made myself a target of the idiots and wuss who get off on abusing others each day. Thus dragging the blog down to the gutter..

I prefer to let them know

This website I’d definatly a better place today..a marked difference despite those that still want to blame me for thier own actions and gutter attitude.

I Think my work is done now. Stood up for what’s right and made myself a target for the low life..at least it roots them out.
