Takeover Update – Amanda Staveley Registers New Company – Holding Company To Acquire Newcastle?

There was news yesterday that Amanda Staveley has registered a new company in London and the thinking is that it could be a holding company should she be successful in buying Newcastle United.

If this is true, then it could be that the deal is a lot closer to being finalized than most people think.

When Mike Ashley acquired Newcastle in late May of 2007, he created St. James’ Holdings Limited and that company purchased shares of Newcastle United from both Sir John Hall and Freddy Shepherd.

It became the holding company for Newcastle United FC.

Amanda Staveley – registers new company based in London

The same thing could be happening with Staveley’s new company called “Cantervale Limited” and is located on Park Avenue in London – at the same address as PCP Capital Partners.

Here’s some information on the new company.

=====

CANTERVALE LIMITED

Company number 11128634

Registered office address: Mezzanine Apartment, 130 Park Lane, London, United Kingdom, W1K 7AE
Company status: Active
Company type: Private Limited Company
Incorporated on 2 January 2018
Accounts: First accounts made up to 31 January 2019 due by 2 October 2019
First statement date 1 January 2019 due by 15 January 2019

Nature of business (SIC)
64999 – Financial intermediation not elsewhere classified

Officer – Staveley, Amanda Louis

=====

A SIC code (Standard Industrial Classification code) is the nature of the business for a company – and Cantervale Limited is registered under 64999 – a financial intermediary company.

These are the types of things that need to be done when a company is being acquired.

We can only hope it is all linked with Ms. Staveley buying Newcastle United and indeed, the negotiations with Mike Ashley have gone on far too long.

There is very little information being released about what’s happening with the takeover but that doesn’t mean progress isn’t being made behind the scenes.

We hope that doesn’t mean progress isn’t being made behind the scenes.

🙂

But also we don’t think there’s any way back for Mike Ashley – he has to sell the club.

What do you think?

Comments welcome.

Looks like a case of finalising paperwork and then it will be announced.

We should just say to Leicester look you have 4 strikers. Vardy, slimani, ozaki and ulloa. You can’t keep them all happy so we will take one off your hands lol.

I like the look of Slimani. Surely cashing in on Mitrovic would give us enough to make an outright bid for him.

Then swap Shelvey for Carroll and we have a new look – and fearsome-looking – forward line.

I am hoping slimani is not forcing his way into the frame with Leicester though or he will likely choose to remain. Definitely the best we have been linked with in my opinion.

it doesn’t really bother me to much about a very rich well off royal family owning the club, I just want rid of Ashley once and for all, an owner who has ambition does me

Cantervale is an anagram of “Can’t Reveal” which would reflect the secrecy of final operations.

For all conspiracy theorists out there 😀

    It’s also “A Clever Ant” but I don’t think he’s involved. 😐

Unless the “Canter” part is a reference to the horse being unbolted from the cart under a “Vale” (homonym) of secrecy! Haha!

He he I’ve started something. Btw there is no “Central Ave” in Newcastle 😉

    I checked.

Does anyone know how many aquisitions PCP make in a yearly average?
Is this a significant move for them or just very general run of the mill activity?

This is what Rafa said to Miles Starforth when quizzed about
    this window.

“We have Sterry (probably a loan) and Colback, who can go.
    That’s very clear.
    The rest of the players?
It depends on what is happening in the market.
January’s a difficult time, especially for players who are
not playing and also have the World Cup
If we don’t move forward, then maybe everyone has to stay.”

I wouldn’t be too quick to write off Mitro

Amanda may have just set up the company
to receive her chop of the deal from abroad
or for a transfer of NUFC with other shareholders
being added as and when they meet with FA approval

all will be revealed in the fullness of time children

Those Man City away tickets have been on sale for awhile now, they will sell out eventually but it’ll take a brave man to go and watch that. I’m going to stick to Swansea at home next time back.

Amanda has only been director of three companies including this one, and another if you include a pcp subsidiary. With this one, it is outright her company which might suggest she is buying the club for herself with rich backers rather than pcp buying the club on behalf and of a client.

What’s interesting is this: Penhallow Company Services Ltd, owned by Craig Eadie, aided Staveley in the creation of this new company. Mr. Eadie was also involved in Staveley and Sheikh Mansour’s huge deal with Barclays a few years ago.

This company created is another for a big deal, you know, like a football club 😉

    Takeover rumours. . .
We’re checking this one out with various sources, so stick with us but lots of intrigue arose last night after a quick search on Companies House revealed a new company has been set-up by Amanda Staveley.

Rumours that Mike Ashley could be close to selling Newcastle United have gathered steam after it was revealed that Amanda Staveley has set up a new company. Ms Staveley has been circling the club for months, but it looks as though a deal could soon be on the cards after the investor set up a company called Cantervale Limited. According to details on Companies House, Cantervale Limited is set up as a business specialising in “financial intermediation”, meaning it could be used as a holding account for Newcastle United. No official details about the use of the company or the sale of Newcastle United have been issued.

    NUFC takeover talk
Contrary to reports over Christmas, we confirmed on Sunday takeover negotiations remained ongoing between Amanda Staveley and NUFC. Staveley setting up a new company that looks suspiciously like the holding company she used to buy Manchester City has sparked fresh talk that an announcement is imminent. Chris Waugh has spoken to Staveley’s people and we’ll have an update from that very soon.

But wilder social media talk of an announcement today or this week looks just that.

Premier League sources say the fit and proper person’s test hasn’t begun and until that happens, it’s difficult to see how there’d a grand announcement. This one will run and run….

If, and it really is still an if at this point, the registering of this company is linked to the acquisition of nufc and as such the deal has been agreed (with checks and things over the coming month still to go) hopefully there can be an agreement between the two parties to put more money into the transfer kitty that can be paid back as part of the sale. I’d love to see us make a statement with a move for someone like Dembele (Celtic) or Bakambu (Villareal) but neither would be cheap

Cantervale is an anagram of Ne cas le.

The letters that don’t fit are the v and the r
    V + 1 = w
    R + 1 = t
The missing letters to make Newcastle.

    That’s a bit of a coincidence.

The truth is we simply do not know what is going on. Ashley is on holiday in the US but he is macho man, has a phone and the internet, and will have been able to agree to any offer acceptable to him.
What this proves is that when a company is up for sale it is massively distracting, people take their eyes off the running of the business and the performance will typically deteriorate.
The reality is that if I were the investors I would be putting the bid on hold now and waiting until a time when I had certainty that the club were staying in the premier league.
What this proves is how amazing Benitez is at getting on with the business of winning premiership points.
Its painful but I would prefer to focus on signing just a single premier league experienced good striker. The rest will follow at the end of the season.
