Rafa Benitez Wants Michy Batshuayi At Newcastle This Month

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has said he will not stand in the way of players wanting to leave Chelsea this month to improve their chances of playing for their country in this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

But we are not sure how that is consistent with Antonio also saying that before anybody leaves this month, he will need to bring in a replacement.

Newcastle have already agreed a deal to sign Kenedy on loan, but it’s the same as the summer, and he will not come to Newcastle unless Chelsea can get a replacement in.

So that could drag on until the last day – as it did in the summer – and he still doesn’t arrive at Newcastle.

There is some good news in ESPN today that striker Michy Batshuayi, who was one of our targets before he signed for Chelsea 18 months ago, is keen to make the Belgium side.

Michy Batshuayi – a Newcastle target this month

The ESPN report also say the Belgium striker is one of Rafa Benitez’ top targets this month and he would definitely get games at Newcastle since we don’t have anybody near his class at the moment.

Newcastle have also been linked with 29-year-old striker Troy Deeney of Watford, and we were also interested in him a couple of years ago.

The fans are not impressed with Deeney being a target this month, but he’s an experienced campaigner and a hard worker and knows the game well.

But on the other hand, Michy is a player we should be signing if we are indeed going to become a top side for the future.

We are hoping Rafa can use his contacts at Chelsea and get Batshuayi in on a loan spell this month with an option to buy or even obligation to buy in the summer.

He would be an excellent signing for us – both short-term and long-term.

Newcastle have been reported to have offered loan deals this month to Islam Slimani, and Danny Ings and the rules say we can only bring in two players from England on loans.

However, there are an unlimited number of players we can sign on loan outside of England.

So it would be possible for Rafa to bring in a few players on loan this month – if we can get good players in.

Comments welcome.

Yes I’d definately be happy to get someone of Batshuayi’s class into the squad. If we’d signed a “decent” goalscorer in August we’d be a top half side now.

He would be the first choice if we can get him with an option to buy if we stay up

There was rumours about saying Monaco were looking to sign him though ?

I’d be more than happy with a front 3 of Ings, Deeney and Walcott. Let Ritchie & Mitro go if need be. I’d definitely question Batshuayi and Slimani’s work rate. Not what we need right now.

As the Sale of the club has not gone through and does not look like till ane of season…
There will be no-one in this window – might be a few out to lessen wage bill.

Yet we will have the same shite ‘we were in for him but could not get the deal over the line’

and his new money man will not sign off any deals

RAFA will fume but not leave because of payment clause.

Ashley will not spend another penny on the club and crossing his bits hoping we stay up so he can collect his ‘full entitlement’ as he sees it.

TOON are stuck between a rock and a hard place

Whether Cantervale is anything to do with Toon or not, its 100% nailed on that Staveley & Co would say it wasn’t.
Regardless of how trustworthy the journalists are, PCP would never have stated it was to do with takeover as that would have shown it was at an advanced stage.
Also they don’t want to show their hand in the transfer market either.

    Keep the faith guys.

Has anyone got any idea or can research on what the time scale was from when Amanda Staveley started the new company (as a vehicle) on the Man City deal until the time they got taken over ?

Might be a similar time Frame here

Also if as some have suggested on here that it’s a done deal , why are we scrapping around for loans ??

Also why is there a meeting this week if it’s done / agreed ?

What happens to the exciting list of signings / money we had to spend in January ??

@Optimistic P – what that piece does prove that, for all his many, many wrongs, Ashley has taken the club to a better financial standing and not having to get loans of 7.5% or more over LIBOR to keep it going. Did you also note in the comments how much debt the scum actually has – first three are what short s “owed”?
    £20m (estimated club purchase)
    £101m (debts written off)
    £69m (loan)
£70m (loan from SBS)Total debt£ £260 million (sounds familiar) just to come out even.

    That is unsustainable.

DubaiMickey, was interesting seeing the local journos yesterday ‘defending’ their stance that the deal hasn’t yet been agreed and that this has nothing to do with NUFC. They based it on talking to ‘people involved in the process’ who told them so. Utter rubbish as we know, no one in Staveley’s team would risk their job, or the deal by giving anything away at this stage. They all pulled together against the lad who put the report together yesterday about Cantervale – even Wraith who I just can’t get my head around but for different reasons. Seems like they don’t like having their pants pulled down.

that’s even more debt then what we owe Ashley, interesting reading that article about the scum, more then likely they will do a Middlesbrough and that might happen at the end of this season if by any good luck they get relegated 🙂

If there is an option I would rather blow our transfer budget on buying this guy than filling four other positions.

I am sure Rafa has been careful with the clubs finances to offer enough for Batshuayi. Whilst the rest of the squad have managed to get us this far and could continue to keep us safe, especially with a striker that could actually score regularly. I believe Joselu was a cheap stop gap rather than only what the club could afford and necessary due to Gayles injury and Mitrovic being Mitrovic.

Rafa has stated, more than once, that this season is only concerned with survival and in order to receive the injection of PL funds. There is no guarantee that Penfold will actually be able do a substantial transfer deal, particularly with an imminent sale of the club. But utilising the clubs budget, not MAs own money, would go along way towards securing the highest possible price for NUFC.

if we stay up and are not sold to the summer, I imagine ash would ask a lot more then, than the current alleged 300M mooted now

Can’t see MA agreeing to any significant transfer fees
if the takeover is not fully and finally agreed – and it
    seems it isn’t.

Loans, Yes, maybe with an option to buy, as they don’t
    mean a long-term commitment.
MA will do the minimum to maintain PL status. Hope he
    gets it right.

There is a huge difference in value of NUFC as a PL club
    as against being relegated.
If MA thinks we have a 75% chance of staying up, whereas
Staveley & friends thinks there is a 66% chance of relegation,
it’s hard to see any agreement on value before the end of
    the season.

    Just hoping I’m wrong.

I wonder how much cash we have in the bank? 2 league payments have been made if I recall, 1 Sept and 1 Jan, so surely we should have £30m or so sat there – which I guess makes a difference to the price agreed.

yes that did cross my mind as well, no doubt it will find its way into ashleys back pocket for him to obtain more shares in other companies as he has done over the past 10 years with free advertising for a company he doesn’t own 100%, Ashley said he doesn’t get paid off sports direct for advertising them all over the ground doubt that he only owns 52% of the company you can bet your bottom dollar hes charging them
