Our Man Of The Match – A Player Coming Into Top Form

The top scorers for Newcastle before the last two games were  Joselu and Dwight Gayle with 3 goals each.

Ayoze Perez has scored three in the last two games and yesterday in the first half against Luton Town he scored two goals to take his total for the season to four goals and he’s now our top scorer.

That’s not many goals after 24 total games Newcastle have played this season so far.

The Spanish forward is coming into form and he’s our Man of the Match for yesterday with 50% of the vote.

And Newcastle certainly need somebody to start scoring goals on a regular basis.

Ayoze Perez – coming into some good some form.

Next in line with 24% of the vote is 22-year-old Jacob Murphy who is easing himself into the Newcastle team and starting to look more impressive on the wing with each game he plays.

Martoon, was it? 🙂 Shows how much attention I pay to Swansea! 🙂 Only saw the brief highlights and could’ve swore the commentator said Ayew, but I’ll take your word on it. Like you say, the point is the same – trip or kick? Definite kick in my opinion and therefore worthy of a red..
    Arsenal going out now. 🙂

Did ayoze play upfront yesterday or was he behind gayle? Didn’t see the match just the highlights.

Maybe Perez’s been scoring cos he’s being played in the right position?

And in fairness to young Murphey, he was identified as one for the future when he came in – before Ashley blocked further incomings and forced Rafa to play him. He’s adjusting to the Prem and it’ll take a little while before he delivers some consistency.

Gayle played up front, but frankly he did little again. Tap ins or not, Perez took his goals because he was there to take them.
Second was a decent save just followed in like any striker should. First the keeper won’t want reminding of! 🙂

Forest just need to keep their heads and they take a huge scalp. Expect a hectic last 20 minutes though! 🙂

Definitely. He’s a striker so will do better playing as a striker. Diame is another, he’s had a couple good games because he is in his natural position, not behind the striker.

Yeah but did Perez play up front with gayle similarly to Perez and atsu at Stoke? Or was gayle the line striker with Perez behind as #10?

I mentioned pretty much the same about an hour ago. Good strikers goals, not every striker sniffs out these goals and follows them in. Some people call them tap ins but they are more than that. Surprisingly I read a few negative comments about his performance which I find a surprise. If he played badly and scored twice then hope he plays badly for the rest of the season.

With coutinho signing for barca and dembele back from injury along with messi and Suarez. I think they could be open to loaning out either alcacer or deulofeu. Would take either in all honesty.

Ronaldo, he played slightly behind Gayle mate. Most those whining about his game probably weren’t there and taking their lead from Ando on the radio. I’ve never heard such a miserable git commentating as the ‘black and white legend’ himself. 🙂 He’s, never happy with any performance from what I hear of him.

t is unbelievable how far back Theo Walcott has gone as a player. Not a shadow of his former self. Mind it may have to do with not playing much.

Fully deserved win imo. Wenger will cry about it and Tbf I think it probably was a double kick, but not like Arsenal never get away with anything is it? Get over it Arsene. 🙂

Makes you wonder, Perez was used as a striker in his first season and he did well considering but only managed 5 goals. Mitro first season managed 9 and I would say he’s our best forward yet isn’t used. Disappointing

Time Theo had a new challenge. He’s growing stale at Arsenal.
A loan signing for the rest of the season to see how it works out would be a good one for us I reckon.

Ando played over 300 games for us
and was always popular and a loyal
    clubman
However he retired at 33 just a few
months before the SJH and Keegan
era and I think that it’s left him bitter
that he missed out on the glory.

Whatever the reason, he spoils a good match at times. You expect a bit of bias from the home commentary, but usually in your favour! 🙂 He almost enjoys the failings lol. Mmm, wonder if he posts on here occasionally?

Express online – just released …..

Nothing happening – Ashley deciding to say out of the country until the 10th now

    Extending his break

    Rafa left in the dark

Mike Ashley, the club’s owner, is now on holiday. He was due back on January 8 but that’s been extended and he’s now back on January 10.

“When he goes get back that leaves 10 days between his return and when Benitez wants them transfer window dealings done.

“The talk in the long term is the takeover is good but in this transfer window, they are stuck right in the middle. It’s causing a lot of problems.

The link of the UAE investors was only an ‘I think’ from the contact, but the waiting for the acceptance mid Jan hey were more confident of.

My earlier conversations, the contact had said it was a group of Emirati investors.

RAFAEL BENITEZ has been left ‘frustrated’ after Newcastle owner Mike Ashley took an extended break – further harming his transfer plans.

Aye Ando and Matthew Raisbeck (I think he’s called) they really are the dynamic duo of Radio Newcastle. Didn’t ‘Raiser’ used to commentate on the makems games? Would explain his zero enthusiasm. Very depressing to listen to him, so downbeat.
