Newcastle LInked With New Midfield Target As Benitez Desperate For Reinforcements

Rafa Benitez is trying his best to bring in some talent to the Newcastle squad this month.

But he doesn’t seem to be getting much help from the Newcastle owner Mike Ashley – and that’s for the third transfer window in succession.

Newcastle have already been linked with Chelsea’s 21-year-old attacking midfielder Charly Musonda.

And the Telegraph are reporting that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will now make the Belgium U21 International available for loan for the rest of the season and Newcastle are interested.

But some other Premier League clubs – Bournemouth, Watford, and West Brom – are also interested in the player and Chelsea want a guarantee that he will be given playing time.

That may be difficult at Newcastle, especially if we bring in Chelsea’s left-sided midfielder Kenedy this month.

Musonda can play in central midfield or on the wings.

Chalry Musonda – 21 year-old Chelsea midfielder

Chelsea have definitely made the decision to allow the youngster to go out on loan, and it appears that Bournemouth are the favorites to sign the player who has played 6 times for the Chelsea first team.

Musonda was also out on loan to Spanish club Real Betis over the last couple of seasons to get some first-team experience.

Musonda’s a possibility for Newcastle, but we will need to choose our loan players carefully since the primary requirement is for strikers this month.

Newcastle need a couple of players who can score goals for us in the second half of the season.

The Brussels-born player has been at Chelsea since 2012 since joining them from Anderlecht.

What do you think?

Online Guy is a good chap.Just like Oldgit and couple others.I don’t get why people jump on and be against him.Keep up your good work. You have my votes for the good things you been trying to do.
On a side note,I thought the Kennedy deal will go through shortly after the completion of the Ross Barkley deal. What is going on?Are Chelsea felt reluctant or was the gaffer forced to move out one inorder to to bring in one?As usual,Nothing seems to be easy for this football club.
Ever since that man handed over a 12pt lead to Mu,something went a miss or cursed.

Shelvey interviewed before the Swansea game – he doesn’t sound the brightest or most charismatic button in the box.

The toon will not sign any 1 and Ashley won’t sell the the summer we will be lucky if we stay up but to be honest we deserve to go down but it all boils down to Ashley as he loves to gamble and if takeover falls through am done enough is enough had ten years of this sh1t just if that happens I hope fans stay away cos this club under Ashley is a joke

Ashley not bothered one bit if fans stay or go if we stop going he strips and sells it off if we keep going he uses that to sell for more either way he’s got a lot of money worth of players/land/assets so go or don’t go it will not effect him it will only affect the squad the manager and the whole fan base be loyal but be abusive to the fat controller if you see him in the street simply walk up and hand him a pie things like that have a more dramatic effect

I don’t think for one second Chelsea need someone in before letting Kenedy go.
Looked at their squad during match against Arsenal, Luiz and Zappacosta on the bench for defence and Pedro and Willian for forwards, not to mention Batshuayi and Bakayoko to boot!
They still started 3 at the back and their wing-back usuals of Moses and Alonso, and have just signed Barkley, where exactly is Kenedy needed?!?

If only I had a pound for every time I’ve said that over the last 49 years !!! Trouble is, as bad as it gets and right now it’s pretty bad, NUFC is in the blood and impossible to walk away from. It kicks you in the teeth endlessly and logically it just isn’t worth the investment in time and money but something always keeps bringing you back, no matter how hard you try to leave it behind.

I’m sure all these guys who have passed on snippets mean well and genuinely believe something is happening regarding a takeover. The reality is very quickly dawning that there is no agreement in place and that Ashley won’t put another penny in for vitally needed transfers this month. However, until someone buys out Rafa’s contract I think Rafa will stay rather than pay the penalty that would be imposed should he leave of his own volition. It’s a huge ask or another crazy gamble to keep us up with this squad as it is though.

What a wind up on twitter today. Headline read something like NUFC involved in deal with prolific striker signing today. Turns out it was Toney going back out on loan!

Re- Beardo, regardless of bullying allegations his coaching CV is so, so poor sadly.

Btw I don’t even particularly rate Kenedy and think we should be aiming way higher than young loan deals, it’s just further frustration that a manager of the calibre of Rafa and a club this size with our amazing and loyal fans are being held back by the disastrous and greedy reign of the owner

    Rotonda,
    Well said man.
    Can’t choose your family
Can’t choose with whom you fall in love
Can’t choose race creed or sexuality
Can’t choose your beloved club (unless one is a plastic, which is why we have Manure and Chelski)

It’s the same old same old every January window with the same thing reoccurring, the board don’t want to bring new players in unless we get rid of the dead wood, the dead wood don’t want to leave as they are on decent contracts which they cannot get elsewhere, Rafa must be so frustrated. He will be gone if the takeover is not cemented before the World Cup. We need to go all out for a proven goal scorer like Giroud who has done it at this level, the two Liverpool strikers will do exactly what Owen did and stay on the treatment table for the rest of the season and the Leicester player is a slight upgrade to Joselu. We need one player who is better not the same!

You’re right, why would Chelsea need a replacement for Kenedy before letting him go? If they rated him they would keep him and not send him on loan! They have more than enough replacements in the squad. I think as soon as Ashley sanctions the deal he will be up with his mate Atsu on Tyneside!

Chelsea need to offload Kenedy because of the racist slur in China! It’s to do with sponsorship!
