Predicted Newcastle Team To Start Against Swansea

This is a critical home game for Newcastle this afternoon against Swansea City, who are 6 points behind Newcastle on 16 points and joint bottom of the league with West Brom.

It’s a game we should be winning if we are to survive relegation this season.

We have Jesus Gamez, Aleksandar Mitrovic, and Florian Lejeune out injured for this game but goalkeeper Rob Elliot is now fit and available to play.

The last thing we want to see is a defeat, but a win is really what we need to get against sides like Swansea – those clubs who are below us in the league table.

Carlos Carvalhal – Swansea manager

Here’s a possible team Rafa could start this afternoon:

Yedlin Lascelles (c) Clark Dummett
Ritchie  Shelvey Merino Atsu
Perez Gayle

It’s a 4-4-2 formation with two strikers up front – in-form Ayoze Perez and Dwight Gayle.

We expect this game to be tough and Swansea to be well organized, and it could be difficult to score against them.

But we need the win before we play at Manchester City next Saturday.

What team would you start this afternoon?

Fans are confident we can win this important game.

many of your friends in here only look at tables, and the 3 points on the board is good reading to them.

play like we did at west ham and more points will follow, play like we did against brighton and you might get a point.

i’m getting sick and tired of the tactic keep it tight for 60 mins and finish strong, make subs in the 70+ min range, it’s. or a good tactic, Far to much time is wasted not trying to score, or if we do score, then we try and see the game out.

More of the west ham game football please

Yeah no problem if Darlow starts, but I prefer Elliott. Better talker, and organizes the defence. Gees up the lads. His experience is an important asset to this young side. Think he’s the natural number one if fit.

    Love a win today

    Going to predict 3-1

Early goal settle the nerves would be nice

Ritchie to score and rediscover a bit of form as he’s been dreadful lately.

    Perez to score as well
