It was a game we had to win – against a bottom of the league side at home and we couldn’t do it.
Once again we missed too many chances in the first half and we could have ended up losing the game.
We had to come back from going a goal down after 60 minutes and it was a nice goal from substitute Joselu to equalize after 68 minutes – four minutes after he came on for Gayle.
But if we cannot beat the bottom team at home – who can we beat.
We seem to be a better team away from home so we have to hope we can do that in future games.
Ayew – puts Swansea ahead after 60 minutes
But it’s even looking like it may be the second January running that no players are brought in to strengthen the squad.
Here are typical tweets from fans.
Not a great result today & by the sounds of it it should have been all over after 45 mins. We desperately need a striker. This takeover is hanging over us. One way or another I can’t wait for the transfer window to shut. We have 15 games to get 12-15 points #nufc

Another frustrating one as it really felt like we could win it! However we have to take the positives. At least we didn’t lose and 14th in the table is not too bad considering the current mess behind the scenes with takeover, no movement in transfer window etc! #NUFC

Looking less and less likely that the sale will happen due to Ashley wanting every penny. As for transfer windows, what’s the point in them as an #nufc fan. Wonder if Ashley paid for his recent holiday or if he got someone else to pay for it, deep deep pockets and small arms.

Now we’re in the shit………good thing fat bastard Ashley has released funds for January……..oh wait January 14th and Rafa still doesn’t know his transfer budget….ffs #nufc

Thought the takeover would be done by now. The longer this drags on the less hope I have. Ashley is making his departure as painful as possible, one last piss poor transfer window for old times sake. #NUFC

I reckon most of us #nufc fans saw that lineup and thought it was a strong one. Yet, all of those players were with us last year in the Championship. We really are a Championship team in the Premier League. Unbelievable that Rafa has had to feed off scraps transfer-wise.

Take over or no take over just hope we can bring in a goal scorer before the transfer window shuts #Nufc

He’d be stupid not to invest in transfer windows such that #NUFC gets relegated, knocking the club’s progress back years, and losing tens of £Ms, parachute payments notwithstanding. But that’s exactly what he does. He never learns. Can’t see #NUFCTakeover happening any time soon.

Nearly half way through the transfer window and Rafa doesn’t even know his budget. What does charnley actually do. Remember the ‘We’ve got the horse now we need to bolt the cart on, from now on we make our own luck’ Spiel. 2 relegations and zero learnt #Nufc
