Newcastle fans have flocked to Twitter on the news that Amanda Staveley has increased her offer to over 300M for the club.
The reports are in the Star and the Express – two papers owned by Staveley’s close friend Richard Desmond.
But it looks like Ashley will delay his decision to next month when the new Premier League TV deal will be announced and that’s likely to be much bigger than the current £5.1B deal.
That put the club in some jeopardy with Rafa Benitez worried he will not be able to attract players for various reasons.
He will not be given much to spend by Ashley and there is uncertainty at the club.
Two good questions – who will be the owner in the summer and will Newcastle still be a Premier League club by then.
Fans are not happy with what Ashley is doing – it seems he is again putting the club in jeopardy of relegation.
Mike Ashley – jeopardizing club
I’m always sceptic when it comes to these kind of rumours however, the two papers to run the story (and as a few pointed out last night) are both owned by Staveleys close friend Richard Desmond. The same person who set up the so called ‘curry house’ meeting. #nufc

Bishop and Barnes are running the show with ZERO accountability and maximum power. If nothing happens by the end of the month I hope Rafa walks. If we stay up what’s the point? He’ll have a new audience in FB and YouTube to sell his tat! HE’S GOING NOWHERE #NUFC

Looks like Ashley’s plan is to wait and see what next months TV revenue will be for next season then gamble with the entire clubs future by hoping they stay up, before attempting to squeeze more wedge out of Staveley.
He’s the definition of a parasite. #NUFC

If reports of increased bid and MA stalling to see what tv deal is..i think its time #nufc fans gave ashley a glimpse of what a Rafa-less future would be like..think ground shud be empty nxt home match..

Yes, #Nufc is a shinking ship, we need every man and their dog at the moment before its man over board (Rafa)

Listening to radio this morning. Apparently Shavely upped offer but fat Mike waiting to see how much new TV rights are worth. Deal looking very unlikely #NUFC

No doubt ‘waiting until next month’ so he can demand an extra £50m! What a thoroughly unpleasant parasite feeding off the clubs name for his own benefit – do one Ashley!! #nufc

I don’t believe a word that comes out of Adrian durhams mouth when talking about #nufc the man constantly this season has had an agenda against us and Rafa

Let’s bring this joke to a end for god sake either sell up or invest as it’s effecting the club now! It requires investment in this window and we are half way through the window already! #nufc

It’s becoming increasingly clear to me that this refusal to fund player buys in January is essentially holding the club to ransom in the hope that Staveley and company care more for the fate of #NUFC than he does and increase their offer. Utterly reprehensible.

Anyone else believe that this ‘Ashley waiting for tv deal’ is actually just one last fuck you to the fans? #nufc

Sky are clearly team Ashely. They ran the 300m story. Maybe that was his way of saying thats the figure i want. Desmonds papers now claiming that the fee has been raised, so maybe this is a step closer? I stand with the masses and cling onto any glimmer of hope #nufc

Nothing ever happens, nothing happens at all.
The needle returns to the start of the song
And we all sing along like before. #nufc

Ashley waiting for the TV deal without investing to ensure we’re there to get it is a measure of the stupidity & greed of the man. #nufc
