So Where Do Newcastle Go From Here – Ashley Closer To Staying On As Owner

The bad news last night was that Mike Ashley has ended negotiations with Amanda Staveley and her group to buy Newcastle and it has left the club in limbo.

And it’s right in the middle of what is a very important transfer window for Newcastle and we have no new arrivals yet with just 14 days left.

It’s yet another mess created by owner Mike Ashley who continually refuses to back his managers in the transfer windows.

That is one reason we have fought relegation in four of the last seasons we have been in the Premier League.

It can all become very depressing.

Mike Ashley – has brought havoc to Newcastle

Rafa Benitez is fighting the owner to get funds so he can save Ashley’s club from another damaging relegation and it will be the worst of the three if it does happen in May.

And we cannot think that Mr. Benitez is too pleased about things this season after Ashley broke his word in the summer on the funds that would be available for Rafa to bring in new players.

Currently, we are just 3 points above the relegation zone and even one of the favorites to take the drop – especially if we cannot improve the squad by February.

9Everton34-1542
10Newcastle33-741
11Bournemouth34-1538
12Watford34-1837
13Brighton33-1535

Other clubs have big money they are willing to spend this month to improve their squads for the second part of the season.

Rafa is like a manager with both hands tied behind his back.

Mike Ashley has no idea how to run a football club.

And when the new TV rights deal is announced – maybe late next month – and expected to be a big increase on the current £5.1B deal – he may think twice about selling Newcastle.

And if he does that it will be yet another disaster for Newcastle United.

The club could soon be looking for a new manager to replace world-class Rafa who will have had enough of the owner by the summer if Ashley remains the owner.

If Rafa leaves it’s because of the dreadful way he has been treated by Mike Ashley – Rafa will not put up with this kind of treatment for much longer.

This is not a positive article, but unfortunately, it does reflect the current situation at the club.

What do you think?

I hope Rafa walks and I hope it’s when the transfer market shuts and I hope we go down and Ashley will lose all that TV money either way the toon arnt going no where under Ashley it’s one lie after another so weather we stay up or not there is no point in Rafa staying cos Ashley won’t back him so when Rafa goes we will end up with a donkey manager and Ashley will rename as owner he won’t sell untill we step up ive never believed he wanted to sell anyway it’s just another pack of lies

Blue Monday? its been a blue 10 years!!!! the Fatman’s PR machine no doubt trying to make him look the ‘innocent’ or ‘injured’ party in all this!

I think fans can legitimately worry that:-
    1. Newcastle could well be relegated; and
    2. Mike Ashley may not sell the club (waiting til the tv deal is announced so he can line his fat wallet with more money…. )

Ed, in all fairness, there is no evidence as far as I know that Rafa was lied to regarding available transfer funds. The club made a reported profit of only 900 000 pounds last year.

Tricky Dicky is punching the air cos Big Mike
didn’t tell her to push off.

I think PCP are stunt pullers
Ashley feels he tried to sell the club
and has been diverted from genuine buyers

In the words of Mr Zimmerman

So I just say fare thee well
I ain’t sayin’ you treated me unkind
You could have done better but I don’t mind
You just kinda wasted my precious time
But don’t think twice, it’s all right

It pains me to say it, but I did predict this. He never had any intentions of selling, and won’t spend anything in January, waiting for TV money to roll in. Money is his only god. As someone who has followed NUFC for nearly 60 years, I’m just about broken. It’s too much to hope for ten years to repeatedly find an amoral black hole that swallows all pride, hope and community that a football club should be. I’m about to turn my back on it all, as this isn’t football anymore, it’s a painful sore.

Unless we got sold Ashley was never going to invest much anyone who thought otherwise just look at his past record. This all stinks of Ashley playing a dangerous game. Like I said last night he wants to sell. Were stuck with him but he’s stuck with us cause he cannot sell.

He panicked because he was furious of the leaked £300 Million bid in Desmond’s paper which was untrue

Let’s see how quick the bid goes up

We go to the championship and Ashley still turns a major profit.

As for Bob Dylan lyrics on the blog, actually slightly brightened the bleakest of bleak mornings.

Watch what Rafa does. That’s where the truth will lie. If it’s off he’ll be away. If it’s brinkmanship he may be told to keep his powder dry and sit tight.

To my knowledge there has been no official statements released by either party or any official PR representative.

All the media coverage is rumour, conjecture and speculation.

In business if there’s a statement to be made Call a press conference, announce your news and hand out the printed version for scrutiny.

This fiasco is like reading the Beano. Cartoon characters with no substance.

So Ananda Staveley is “ understood to be devastated” ? Really ? I haven’t seen any interviews with her sobbing into her handkerchief amid claims that she’ll seek therapy to get over this.

Ashley, Charnley and particularly Bishop – have they stood in front of any cameras or microphones ? Thought not. If they do they might have to choose their words carefully about whether or not formal offers have been made to buy the club otherwise they may find that the laws of libel and slander are relevant.

All we see or hear are snidey soundbites, playground gossip and woe is me type whispers. Sky play along with this tattle.

    Pathetic.
    Unprofessional.
    Incompetent.
    Unworthy.

Last time ashley bought shares in sd he paid about £4 per share he then preceded to sell then at about £10 per share making over 50% so according to Ashley newcastle is worth about £300 million can you really see newcastle to be worth £600 million in 5 years by running the club the way he does. Think not he would be better investing the £300 million in sd as he always has…….

    Just my opinion.

Ashley wants 300 million with no clauses.
PCP willing to pay 250 million with relegation clauses.

I’ve thought for a while that the takeover will not be completed until we are safe and then PCP will be able to make the deal without any clauses. I can’t blame the fat man from not wanting to accept a deal in which he loses money.

Here’s hoping he gives Rafa some decent money to sign a couple of players.

I am so gutted about the possibility of everything going titsup and us being stuck with him all over again. We will lose Rafa if this is the case and i wouldn’t blame the man as there is only so much you can do or take with a situation like Ashley

If one side says 250 and the other side says 300 and no-one budges then you have stalemate. Sure as schitt someone from the Stavely camp will have been on the blower to someone in the Ashley camp….. Deal could easily be back on….
    Just my opinion…..

My first game was watching cup final in 1955, never forget Len White heading first goal, I was hooked. Since then I have been through a lot of ups & downs with club but the last 10 years have been the worst ever, not because of standard of football we have paid to watch rather the despicable man who is in charge. He has lied repeatedly, pulled the most underhanded stunts imaginable for his own benefits & I thought he couldn’t get any lower. But as usual he has outdone himself again, no transfer money, pocket t.v. cash & undoubtedly loose the only thing with any integrity at the club Raffa. I HATE THE MAN
