Report – Newcastle Interested In 27-Year-Old £8M Rated Brazilian Right-Back

Newcastle in the last few days have been linked with a lot of players in different positions, and while obviously, they will not all arrive at Newcastle this month it does give us a hint about who Rafa will go after in the summer.

Rafa will want to upgrade most positions in his team which has been struggling in the Premier League so far this season.

That’s always assuming we will still be a Premier League club by then and Rafa is still our manager.

We hope both of those will become true this summer and we’ll breathe a (very) massive sigh of relief if and when both of those events happen.

Bruno Perez – 27-year-old Roma right-back

There is a report in Italian newspaper Il Temps that Newcastle have enquired about Roma right-back Bruno Peres.

West Ham United are the other club who have enquired about the 27-year-old who only moved to Roma on loan in 2016 and made the deal permanent last summer.

The Brazilian right-back moved to Italy and Torino from Santos in June 2014.

Bayern Munich and PSG are reported to have been interested in the 5ft 10ins players, and he said to be available for a reasonable £8M.

Bruno could be one of Rafa’s (many) transfer targets this summer.

Perez has played 16 times for Roma this season, and in total, he has made 60 appearances for the Rome club with 2 goals and 5 assists.

When he was at Torino he played 68 times with 7 goals and 12 assists.

Comments welcome.

Are brazilians the new spanish? every window we seem to have a buying theme of nationality.

Guess we save on only needing one new translator at the club that way.

It’s Ashley and the Sports Direct advertising vehicle in full speed.

It’s all to do with increasing brand awareness in different countries for SD.

It all started with the French influx back in 2010.

Why are people knocking kenedy, he’s was another very good prospect coming out of Brazil but he is also hot headed. When Olin Brazil he could play upfront or on either wing and equally adept at the no10 role. If rafa gets him on loan it’ll be a very astute signing.

IMO I think Kenedy will be a cracking signing, never really got a chance at Chelsea.

When he has played, he has impressed me. Don’t tell me SJP won’t light up when we see this:

    Chelsea don’t sign average youngsters.

Last NUFC team to beat Man City in 2005 before Ashley regime cost £60 Million

Nufc Team 2018 v Man City (13 years later) cost 50 Million

Sorry if this has been pointed out before but it’s an embarrassment

Although our top league goal scorer is Joselu with four, we have a total of 13 players who’ve also scored for us in the league, wonder how that compares to other clubs.

Frank – unless we are selling a number of players first I’d agree that does sound unlikely we take about 2 weeks to sign a player so I’m not counting any chickens that we will sign anyone at all.

Seems a fair few comments about the ‘lies’ about funding press battle going on at the moment. My view is Ashley is purveying lies in the form of truth, in stating the £200M investment is all well and good, but I have not seen proof of funds for this. My take being he has seen proof of funds for the money necessary to buy the club, but not enough to buy and invest 200M, hence the truth, in full knowledge that it will be picked up on as meaning no proof of funds was shown, adding to the ‘tyre’ kicker theory he was already pushing; the lie.
The more this goes on, the more this is looking like Ashley publicity seeking/game playing/transfer window trickery and that he never intended to sell, just like the last time. I hope I am wrong

    @Chancel be a fine thing, Jan 21, 2018 at 10:38 PM, Comment #74

That doesn’t work for me, Ashley doesn’t give a toss about the club after he’s gone (and to be fair why should he), it’s just another tactic trying to discredit the bidder(s) or slowing everything down.

no we wont but i do like the idea of only 25 pros over the age of 21 i think it was
you look at how many players chelsea and the top 6 have out onloan

as for all the player links we wont buy this window we will bring in a few loans
ashley leaks the news of the sale falling through then were linked with a few good players
rumours of a tranfer record being broken
    its all media bs

Nice to see the Chronic is back to towing the line; telling us that if Newcastle spend 20M on a striker, then Ashley has kept all his promises. Even when he sells Mitro for 16M?

Interesting read. New FFP rules will cause them to think of new ways to get round it.
Whats the point of any rules if they are not enforced.

Paradise papers and Panarama reckon the new part owner of Everton was given the money by the Russian who owns 30% of Arsenal. What will be done about that. Can you check where he got the money from. If you can’t why bother with rules.
Any team that finishes 3rd bottom this year should kick off and ask for explanations.
    Not an even playing field.

yeah i read that a while ago about the everton bloke they tracked the cash to the arsenal bloke
i dont think anything was done or whether it is ongoing i am not sure

chelsea run there players as a source of income they have made huge sums in the last few years
again i think they have done it to get round the old ffp rules
so it will hurt them if it comes in,

will help english kids come through ?? and will it help bring the prices of players down

Financial Fair Play is total rubbish…. outside of football there are many business who operate with loans to fund growth before becoming self sufficient. It’s no different to how teams like Man City and Chelsea have grown their club.

What should be in place are wage caps (squad or individual) and limit on transfer fees.

That would be fairer than the current model which is essentially designed to allow top clubs to spend and smaller clubs to not be able to invest to improve.

Totally agree mate this has all the hallmarks of keeping the natives quiet with plenty of BS in the press. It’s the same old repetitive garbage we all consume every window. Ashley will never change his ways and all this about breaking our transfer price for a striker comes just a little too soon after the Magpie’s were showing their unrest against Ashley at the Man City game.

I’m not bothered about net spend vs gross spend, as long as we buy the right players. If we make a profit but improve the squad that’s fine.

The problem we have is that we don’t ever improve the squad, we do the bare minimum (and sometimes less) to just scrape by.

It won’t be Giroud…he wouldn’t move to Everton as his wife didn’t want that move. Can’t see him moving to Newcastle if that’s the case, only a short term loan for game time.
