Newcastle Could Leverage Selling Star Player To Get Striker In

The Express are reporting the potential deal of Newcastle allowing Jonjo Shelvey to move to West Ham is edging closer and that the deal could still happen this month.

But Rafa would need to be able to bring in another central midfielder if he was to let Shelvey leave the club.

Rafa is frustrated at Shelvey’s lack of discipline on the pitch and he and striker Aleksandar Mitrovic will probably both be sold this summer.

Shelvey splits opinion on Tyneside, but there’s no doubt he has talent but he also has temperament issues.

But why would we sell one of our best players to a relegation rival this month?

Jonjo Shelvey – splits opinion on Tyneside

Maybe we can use the deal to get West Ham striker Diafra Sakho coming the other way on loan?

That’s could be a leverage Newcastle could use, but again we would need to bring in another central midfielder before Shelvey would be allowed to leave.

Rennes have reportedly had two bids turned down in the last couple of days for Sakho and the news is the Senegal International would like to return to play in France.

And we don’t know if Rafa rates Sakho or if he would be an improvement on what we already have.

Shelvey is an experienced Premier League player and it would still be a shock if we sold him this month to West Ham.

We’d much rather have him available to help Newcastle survive in the Premier League this season.

What do you think?

“The player is valued at £20m but they haven’t bid that high – yet.”

    Catchy,

We all know how Youtube Scouting works out. But you can clearly see Kenedy played a lot of his stuff from RW and ST before he came to Cheslea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=478&v=XHXr7Yubckg

So we look like signing a player and catchy uses it to have another dig at rafa, again Catchy who do you want to replace him, you have never answered the question, you want him gone for who? also you are saying kenedy is not going to solve the problems we have like he is going to be our only signing, if we sign a keeper and striker you will still find a way to make it a negative against Rafa

I’ll let go Shelvey if there is a better replacement.Someone like Sturaro or Charley Musonda will do for the moment.

Veltman, maybe in the summer, but it’s a risk bringing anyone in now. If they take time to adapt then we are a XI man down.

Is this another case of sell and buy together AGAIN. Where does Fatman Cashley get his money from ? OH yes selling higher priced players and what happens to the profit. Not sure never see it .
    NOWT’S CHANGED !

Given mr tubbs transfer policy pretty much rules out anyone over the age of 27. Rafa might be able to convince fatty to spendy a couple of mill on a murphy but 20 mill no chance. Would prefer someone with prem league expeience so thay can hit thr ground running but cant see any of our relegation rivals helping us out so for me leaves either batshyuai or ilheanacho. Looking further a field maybe kasper dolberg, paco alcacer, milik or lucas vazquez.
