Rafa Asked If He Will Stay At Newcastle If No More Signings This Month

Newcastle were no match for Chelsea today especially in the second half after they had gone 2-0 up in the first half with two breakaway goals.

Both goals were scored by the impressive Michy Batshuayi – a Newcastle target at one time in the past – but he was too expensive.

So what’s new?.

Jorgensen was played today in Feyenoord’s 3-1 home win against Den Haag – but he didn’t score.

But even after a poor display form Newcastle today Rafa seems upbeat on being able to get a signing done before Wednesday night.

He was asked if he would stay at Newcastle if he was not backed by at least one new signing before Wednesday night:

“I have to just worry about Burnley and that’s it. I think the fans are very clever and they know what is going on.”

“What I have to do is keep going. I am a professional and I want to do well.”

“I am happy with the city, the fans and can see the potential of the club.”  “I have to be sure that everybody understands the message, we have the same idea and we are on the same page.”

“We have to keep working hard.” “I am sure I will keep working as hard as now with all my staff. We try to improve the team.”

“I think if we do anything we don’t have time for this game against Burnley.”

“At least we will have time to do something.”

We’ve been impressed the way Rafa has put up with Mike Ashley since the end of last season.

Rafa seems to want to stay at Newcastle, but Ashley is such a terrible and inconsistent owner, you just never know what he will do next.

That has to be a problem for the world-class manager, who has had so little investment in players from Ashley in the last 13 months.

Rafa is now trying to manage the difficult situation he is in.

I think he’ll stick it out to the end of the season at any rate.

Thanks NUFC 83. Frustration rife sadly for all us truly disappointed fans. YET AGAIN! If RAFA stays he’ll be eating humble pie. MA has shafted him like all this predecessors.

From the Independent “… their flimsy game-plan collapsed in a heap of laxity, lethargy and ultimately apathy.”

All the signs were there before the goal. It was the laxity and lethargy that led to the first goal.

We are playing Wednesday so there will be far to much to sort out on a matchday so weve only got 2 days really

I think that Rafa will have a look at the situation when the new TV rights is sorted out.

Mr Ashley will again promise him untold riches in the summer to which Rafa will quietly smile to himself, after all he’s heard so many times before.

If PCP come back in to buy us, they will make having Rafa as manager a condition of the sale.
That’s when Rafa gets his revenge and walks. Suddenly the value of us plummets.

Poor Mr Ashley is left with something no one wants at any price.

Thought we weren’t too bad first half. Stifled them for the most part. First goal was poor to concede but they’re a top team, we are not. Second goal so unlucky. Didn’t deserve to be losing first half never mind 2-0. 2nd half was poor. Not too fussed either way, all about Wednesday. Dummett, yedlin, diame, merino, Perez all rested. Atsu, Murphy barely played. Kenedy debut. Can win but need our ‘strikers’ to score. Rather than rely on them I’d go for atsu and Perez up front like v Stoke. Obviously would prefer mitro be given a few games but that ship has sailed now.

No takeover coming, Benitez leaving in the summer, no striker incoming. Very disheartening to be a fan right now.

Provided they stay up can see Rafa taking the Hammer job. They want him, could stay near his family they have some ambition. Always possible Conte walks or Wenger os ditched and Rafa ends up in Blue or with the Gunners. The there’s always the continent as well.

One thing is for sure Rafa won’t stay if Ashley stays because he was lied to across 2 windows.

Right so here’s the scenario £20 million on a striker. scoring is only part of the problem need a keeper and a no 10 unless he hits the ground and can score from the halfway line we’re stuffed.

no one can blame rafa if he did walk, hes been let down by Ashley big time but hes always done this to managers he obviously thinks a manager of a football club is like one of his managers in his tacky dire ect warehouses where he uses people on slave labour contracts for his own gain, the sooner this scum bag sells up the better

No blaming Rafa. Ashley is gambling on Rafas quality keeping us is rather than paying for players. Far cheaper but frustrating.
