The Star is reporting that Newcastle are interested in signing Jack Harrison of New York City FC.
Jack was born in Stoke on Trent, and the 21-year-old moved to the states as a 14-year-old and has done well in the MLS.
He was part of the Liverpool and Manchester United Youth Academies while growing up in England, and the winger has been getting some interest from English clubs with his excellent displays for New York.
In the last two seasons, he has scored 15 goals in 59 games for his club, who play their home games at Yankee Stadium in The Bronx.
Patrick Vieira is the head coach.
Jack Harrison – plays for New York City
The Star are reporting Newcastle want to sign him in this window – which has only three days to run after today so Newcastle will need to move quickly.
Stoke City and Middlesbrough are the two other English clubs interested in the 5ft 9ins winger.
Jack has played twice for the England U21 side, and he is well regarded in the MLS.
New York City FC want to sell him for about £6M this month, but maybe we can get him on loan with an option to buy in the summer – if he does well.
