The Sun are reporting today that Newcastle want to sign 24-year-old striker Luan.
Newcastle are said to be in with a definite chance of signing the Brazilian International after his sparkling displays for his Brazilian club Gremio this season.
Liverpool are also interested in the player but Gremio have offered him to Newcastle for £17.5M, which is less than Feyenoord want for their Danish striker Jorgensen.
That deal, however, must be closed in this transfer window.
Luan – 24-year-old Brazilian striker
The Sun are reporting his displays for Gremio have made Premier League clubs interested in bringing him to England.
To sign him means Newcastle must move quickly – which may be a challenge the way Newcastle do their transfer business – very slowly and pedantically.
Luan definitely has talent and Newcastle have to make a quick decision on which striker they sign in the next 3 days – Jorgensen from Feyenoord or Luan from Gremio.
Luan has two caps for Brazil after making his international debut in January of last year in a 1–0 friendly win against Colombia and he has been at Gremio since 2013.
The Sao Paulo born player scored 18 goals in 51 total appearances for Gremio last season.
But now Rafa Benitez has to decide which striker he wants between the two of them and sign one of them before the window slams shut on Wednesday evening.
There will still be paperwork to do whoever Newcastle decide to sign.
Time is of the essence.
Hey for only £37.5M we could sign both of them.
