Sky Sports are reporting that it looks like Daniel Sturridge will help West Brom survive in the Premier League this season and not Newcastle as he has chosen to go on loan to West Brom for what are called family reasons.
Maybe he’s closer to home by going to West Brom but we still hoped he would join Newcastle.
Newcastle’s enquiry for Daniel Sturridge falling on deaf ears as we’re told the England striker is set to choose West Brom for family reasons.
— Keith Downie (@SkySports_Keith) January 29, 2018
There were some doubts he wanted to come to Newcastle when George Caulkin of the Times tweeted this a few hours ago.
Newcastle were expecting Sturridge to travel north this lunchtime. He hasn’t.
— George Caulkin (@CaulkinTheTimes) January 29, 2018
John Percy is the Midlands reporter for the Telegraph and tweeted this out.
#lfc striker Daniel Sturridge set for medical at West Brom later today. Loan to end of the season.. #wba
— John Percy (@JPercyTelegraph) January 29, 2018
But if Sturridge can just stay fit he should be able to score the goals for West Brom.
Now it remains to be seen what happens with £20M striker Jorgensen who Feyenoord are playing hardball over – but Newcastle must bring a good striker in if we have a decent chance of surviving in the Premier League this season.
It’s all starting to get very late and there is supposed to be a 6:00 pm deadline for Newcastle to let Feyenoord know what our plans are for the striker.
If we walk away – who else can we bring in?
Comments welcome.

Comment #41Good news for Ashley spend nothing but still keep selling out all our home games- result only the fans to suffer another relegation.
Only bonus to us is we do actually win games down there.

Irony ? Looks like those 3 managers would have a secret laugh to themselves . They will be in EPL whilst Rafa will be off elsewhere . Who we would get ?……..I run out of anything more to say .
But hey we still have 48 hrs to do business let’s stay positive .
On another glass of wine to help the frustration

Comment #44Ashley accused PCP of wasting his time? Probably the other way round – much as he’s wasted Feyenoord’s time and that of Newcaste United’s fans over 11 wasted years.

Fulham reject an £18m West Ham bid for Tom Cairney, and Preston reject an £8m Reading bid for Jordan Hugill, even though he’s out of contract in the summer. Meanwhile, #NUFC are scraping together three buttons, a toffee wrapper and a pen top as a loan bid for Islam Slimani….

Comment #46Tried to outsmart Amanda – failed miserably
Then he tried it again with Van Brocklehurst – failed again.
All you are is a fat cat smart arse who is grossly economical with the truth.
You are not even fit to lick Amanda & Van Brockleurst boots both who turned out to be honest & true to their word.
Come to game Wednesday & the fans will certainly let you know what they think about you and your cronies.
If you don’t then listen in on the radio or watch Match of the Day.

Comment #47Rafa only staying in hope of takeover
If not he’s gone / we all know this
We will get a loan in that’s obvious , who that will be ? Anyone’s guess
My only hope now is Ian Nacho (lol) from Leicester or Slimani …..And that no mark keeper
We were never going to spend
I don’t even think there will be an apology this time

If I’m honest I can not see anyone willing to come and work for him when Rafa goes.
Can he not see that PCP will pull out if ,sorry, when Rafa leaves so he’s stuffed on the sale front too.
The more he tries to be clever the bigger hole he digs & the value of the club deteriorates more & more. Rafa’s position is untenable now h will never believe anything the man says ever again,

Comment #56Bringing in a player on loan that hasn’t even scored a premier league goal and who’s confidence is probably shot wouldn’t be a great move.

Comment #57Belfast…he’s good! He’s our preferred choice international, but whether or not he’s cut out for the PL I don’t know…
…or playing at STJ in front of 52.000 I am not sure…
It’s a bit of a gamble, but at least he’s in the form of his life as oppose to someone like Slimani or Sturridge

Comment #67Could someone explain to Chumley that Holland are on C.E.T. Time not G.M.T.
Newcastle’s move for striker Nicolai Jørgensen is off after the club failed to make an improved third bid before the deadline of 6pm, according to a report.
Dutch outlet AD claim that the deadline had been set by the club to ensure it could prepare properly for its crunch cup game against PSV on Wednesday.
The deadline of 6pm Dutch time has passed without a further bid from Newcastle and the club is now adamant that he will remain a Feyenoord player.

Comment #71If it takes Rafa walking and a relegation for things to change so be it. If Rafa stays til the end of the season and we stay up then what? Rafa is leaving at the end of the season no matter what. So we’ll have one more year signing crap like lejeune Josiére manquillo merino murphy atsu and kenedy. Then a relegation under a manager like grayson while half the posters here look for positives and half look for negatives.
1 day to avoid the meltdown.

Comment #80Sturridge is class in all four games he manages to play.
Don’t think we are missing out given his injury record, but knowing our luck he’ll stay fit and score for fun and keep that smiling spiv Pardew in the league
