It seems that Newcastle are again in an almighty mess after Rafa Benitez has relied on Mike Ashley to bring in players to the club this month.
But we have today missed out on both Sturridge on loan and Jorgensen because Mike Ashley will not pay the going rate for him.
So it seems he would rather have Newcastle relegated again rather than pay what he believes are over the odds for any player.
The incompetence and ineptitude shown at the top of the club is embarrassing – they don’t know what they are doing.
The Premier League should investigate how Mike Ashley has ruined Newcastle over the last 10 years – it’s almost criminal what he’s done.
If we don’t bring in a striker before Wednesday night then it’s Ashley’s responsibility (also known as fault) – he’s to blame – make no mistake about that.
There are still two days left so we can still get somebody in – but who?
Lee Charnley and Mike Ashley – they don’t know what they are doing
But that’s enough from me here are what our very long-suffering fans think of Ashley – and Charnley too.
@NUFC LIARS. Worst ran club in the country. Shambles of a set up. You don’t deserve @rafabenitezweb or #nufc fan base. LIARS LIARS LIARS

Excellent point by John.
I find it staggering that a businessman as successful as MA can possibly put his biggest asset in danger of being relegated by not investing to keep us from relegation. Surely anyone knows an input of around £60m to stop us losing untold millions in relegation is worth it. #nufc

What do #nufc expect when they leave everything until the last minute! Rafa wanted business done by 20th and he didn’t even know his budget by then! Why not tie up Sturridge 4 weeks ago? Now, once again they’re in a panic and looking at plan D with 51 hours left! Joke #AshleyOut

Comment #11Ashley was upset by the way the Toon fans treated him and I think being a hate figure does get to him. I believe that he has spent a decade gaining retribution by making us suffer at every opportunity – and the transfer window is where he knows he can really wind us up.
So every window he plays this game of brinkmanship – dangling prizes in front of us only to watch them be snatched away at the last minute as he or his patsy fails yet again to ‘get it over the line’.
The relegations were a result of his brinkmanship breaking down through sailing a little too close to the edge in inflicting suffering on the fans. And yet he will risk doing it again this time. I don’t think he will deliberately push us towards relegation but if it happens – and the value of his asset plummets – well, at least he’s got his own back a bit more.
He is certainly successfully winding up everybody on here.
Just a thought.

Comment #15Probably a crumb to latch onto but the way Rafa has been checked under the bus repeatedly it would only be that minority of loons blaming him for us being relegated again – perhaps Rafa thinks it would be quite an achievement to steer and train these lads into surviving in this league? He might stick around for the challenge at least for this season.

Comment #18I think he’ll see out the season. But he would be well within his rights to leave. Only way he stays is if the club is taken over. He’ll probably end up at West Ham and we’ll take moysey. Better than Grayson or clement I suppose.

Comment #20I’m sure this will get some stick but here goes…..
For those calling on the FA, Premier League etc to intervene, on what grounds. Ashley doesn’t spend much money, if any, but the club are in a financially good place.
As a fan of course I want to see more investment, as well as smarter investment. The club is languishing behind where it should be. I fail to see how other top flight clubs can buy a few players yet we supposedly can’t afford it. It begs the questions
1. Where is the money actually going
2. If we genuinely can’t compete, why can’t we? Are we not managing money correctly, securing good deals for sponsorship and other income sources, etc etc
This isn’t a defense if Ashley at all, just pointing out that for all he’s a disgusting liar, there are plenty of owners from recent times who have taken their clubs back 20 years by blowing money they don’t have.

Comment #24Ive got a question that one of you may be able to answer. Is probably niave aswel but im not an accountant and dont know the ins and outs of tax laws etc BUT if during mike ashleys ownership we have made a profit or not spent almost every single window, reduced the wage bill, sold all the clubs land surrounding the ground and besides the £80million mclaren spent, we have no money.. how is that possible? Where has all the money gone? Cant just have been pocketed. Ive been limited onshore in the past and its a ball ache to just take money out of your company just to spend, as its the companies and not technically mine… if “lesser” clubs have money and they havent been through austerity like us then how have they got money and we havent? They have more debt obligations due to previous credit for player deals where as we pay cash so no interest and weve only spent less than we’ve made from sales so the club SHOULD be constantly turning a profit… just like the government, tax more and spend less, yet have no money… where has all the money gone??

Comment #26I can’t imagine Rafa walking mid season. It would be expensive for him to break his contract, same way it would be for Ashley to sack him.
Fixed length deals protect the manager but also the club. No way will he be allowed to walk away mid season for free.
If he does stay though, he might not be as motivated as he once was which would be a huge blow. Fortunately Rafa comes across as a great club man with loyalty to the fans…I think he’s here until the summer and least and giving his all.

Comment #31toon kk #13, Damn right and this is the problem.
If the fans stayed away, Sky and BT would not want to show the games with an empty ground and this would drive Ashley out, He hates the bad publicity, we are at the end of our tether now and this is the last resort, Can any fan really go through 10 more years of this? It is soul destroying and I am not just thinking of us I’m thinking about the next generation of supporters? He is killing the club and a boycott is the only way forward.

Comment #34Rob You missed the fact that we were in the Championship last year? Sunderland were rock bottom of the Prem and still earned about £60million more than Newcastle. Plus we might pay cash, but other clubs don’t. We still haven’t received all of the Sissoko and Wijnaldum money. Sissoko three year deal, Wijnaldum four. We probably paid upfront for the two French wingers and then had to let them go on 2-3 year instalment deals.
