Newcastle are desperately looking to bring in a striker in the 26 hours left in this transfer window.
If they fail to do that they will be embarrassed by not getting Rafa Benitez the one player he asked for this month – a striker – and by showing their complete incompetence – once again.
One possibility is 22-year-old Spanish U21 International and former Barcelona striker Sandro Ramirez, who Rafa was keen on signing in the summer.
But he has not done well at all at Everton this season.
He is available on loan, and if Rafa stills rates the Spaniard, he could well bring him in on loan for the rest of the season before tomorrow night.
Sandro Ramirez – former Barcelona striker available on loan
But to be any good to Newcastle, Sandro will have to show a lot better form than he’s so far shown at the Toffees.
Newcastle seem to be the betting favorites probably because Rafa wanted his compatriot in the summer.
Spanish sides want him but are having trouble playing his wages – which we assume Newcastle could pay in addition to the loan fee.
Newcastle must bring in a striker by tomorrow night otherwise Mike Ashley will have the fans at Newcastle to deal with.
That’s because once again he’s let Rafa down badly if nothing materializes before tomorrow night.
The owner just doesn’t want to spend any money in the transfer market, and it’s been like that since late May of 2007.
It’s hard to see at this point – only 26 hours left – how Newcastle can get a decent striker through the door after Ashley spent the first half of the month doing nothing.
Did I say it is all totally pathetic?
