Report – Benitez Furious Over Late Change Of Mind By Daniel Sturridge

The Mail are reporting today that Newcastle and Rafa Benitez are furious after they thought they had a loan deal all tied up for Daniel Sturridge yesterday.

We had agreed terms with Liverpool and Sturridge was due to arrive in Newcastle yesterday at about noon but didn’t show.

And it turns out a late move by West Brom had changed the mind of the Birmingham-born striker.

The deal was for £1.5M to get him on loan, and we would pay all of his £130K/week wages.

The deal was agreed following a conversation between Benitez and Sturridge about the move.

Rafa Benitez – furious over late change of mind by Sturridge

Usually, when Benitez talks to a player that’s it, and they are only too keen to work under his excellent coaching and man-man management.

But that was not the case yesterday and it could be crucial to Newcastle if we cannot get another striker in before tomorrow night.

But Newcastle cannot look for excuses now because we have brought this on ourselves.

It’s all our doing.

Mike Ashley wasn’t interested in signing anybody until halfway through this transfer window, and Newcastle are not known for doing any quick deals in the transfer market and we will not pay out the going rate for players.

This is almost a ruse to excuse Newcastle for our blushes for what happened yesterday.

We do sympathize with manager Benitez, who has football novices above him in the Newcastle hierarchy.

We have left it all too late to do good business in this crucial transfer window, and we are now paying the price for that lack of foresight.

That’s what the truth is.

sturridge dodged a bullet by not coming here, lol. The thought of a mitrovich banished from the team must have haunted him.Oh wait, maybe pardiola proposed him for a fifa match on his console, hehe.

Furious? for their incompetency in actually scouting him properly and getting to know his preference in moving?

More like Charnley & Ashley is glad as it saved them 130k in wages…

Nightlife would have been a distraction for him. Plus how can you turn down an offer to work with the Premier Leagues best manager, John Carver! 😳

What a messed up and toxic club this has become under Ashley.

I think there is merit in a boycott, for possibly 1 or 2 matches. This is a god awful situation that one man has created. The club isn’t united and it’s not going anywhere till as KK put it, Ash walks away. The trouble is Ash knows the fans will always turn up and keep perpetuating what we’ve been going through ever since Ashley arrived. A couple of games with an empty stadium might finally concentrate his mind somewhat, because nothing else has.

Ashley has made it personal and he won’t sell or invest, but will gamble his continued free advertising against a 3rd probable relegation

Is there any limit to how many deals Charnley can screw up? Sturridge picks WBA and Pardew over us. Is that not the final straw when judging anyone’s incompetence?

Again we now have the promising and exciting El Mhanni leaving because the Beardo complaints were not upheld by the club’s joke hierarchy and old boys network. Everything in this club and the shocking treatment of a respected and decorated manager is an absolute disgrace and leaves me sick to the stomach.

To be fair, if Rafa had agreed a deal over the phone with Sturridge, and he then decides against it – ie. goes back on his word, then I wouldn’t want him anywhere near us. You need trust, and Sturridge obviously can’t be trusted if the above is true.

Sturridge is a typical modern day young person. Untrustworthy and believe lies are only bad if someone else lies.Their “rights” count and no-one else has any.
That being said, thanks to Ashley and co this is now a toxic club no-one else wants to be a part of. A contaminated zone. A disaster waiting to happen. I mean. WEST BROM ??????? A club who’s idea of a big attendance is half Newcastle’s ?

We MUST Boycott this club. NO MORE 45,000 averages in the Championship.
THAT is what encourages Ashley’s greed.
    YOU idiots. YOUR mindless loyalty
I recall a moron Villa fan screaming we “deserved relegation because we turn up whatever crap we get served” I thought he was typical low-IQ Brummie.
    BUT HE WAS RIGHT.
We get what we deserve. Loyalty=10th rate offerings.
We’ll still turn up no matter Ashley’s skinflint attitude. The dumb geordies will still turn up…..

World class manager can only work and perform with world class players which RAfa is never going to get at newcastle under the current regime. And clearly he has already written off certain players from the current squad for whatever reason he deems justified of doing so.Now if we are not getting anyone by the 31st of january, where do we go from here? With the current squad and with players the manager does not feel fit playing under him and having only bagged this amount of points with already half the season gone, where does that leave us?

I’ve never rated Mitro, always though he was incredibly slow for the premiership, misses a lot of sitters and is always on the edge of a card.
Lots of badge kissing and antics impresses the tattoed lads lads on the quayside but doesn’t really wash in reality. That said, we may now have no option but to try him.

    Sturridge is history.
He’s not fit and no doubt Mrs.Sturridge if there is one or his “personal advisors” ( hangers on ) told him to stay at home in the Midlands while he tries to get his career back on track. That’s a luxury NUFC can’t afford to wait for as we need an immediate fix and we’re not a convalescence home.
Actually no problems with his decision as WBA was the easy option for him which might show some fragility in his mind set.
How Charnley didn’t think that was a possibility actually shows his lack of acumen and competence to do his job.
The fact that Liverpool shipped him out and kept Ings who a week ago was rumoured to be our target speaks volumes.

Somehow I think we’ve not messed up just missed out.

I’m not suggesting this happens or saying it should but….
If fans stooped going to the sky broadcast games, stopped buying season tickets, didn’t buy any merchandise, staged silent protest at every match the one set of people who currently back Ashley but have the power to put pressure on him would have to take a different stance with him….SKY.
They will not want to see empty stadiums. They will not want silence.
Ashley himself will not want zero merchandise sold.
Protests of any other kind will get the media attention sky crave.
That’s how you get to Mike Ashley.
He’ll continue to deliver a poor product and stay until things change. HE HAS TO GO FOR ANYTHING CHANGE.

Poor Lee Chutney is surely lacking the negotiating tools to bring in crucial targets. It appears the only thing he has in his locker is a Gregg’s loyalty card and a bag of Flumps.

I honestly think we’ve dodged a bullet with Sturridge. He was never the answer. There’s even a possibility that he will not get a full game for WBA this season. He cannot be match fit. His place in the England squad was never a motivation as he is behind Kane and Vardy in the pecking order and offers nothing they don’t have. I even think Crouch has more chance of a call up. So I expect him to do an Owen to them.
That said, I’m not condoning the situation where our club management have left us without bringing in an additional striker. It’s beyond beyond belief.

If there’s one down side to Rafa I would have to say it’s what appears to be his stubbornness.
