Looks LIke Jack Colback Is Finally Leaving Newcastle Today

Sky Sports are reporting that Jack Colback is finally going out on loan – to Nottingham Forest – and the local lad should a good signing for Forest.

Jack has a lot of Championship experience and he did quite well for Newcastle last season down below and he also spent some time with Ipswich Town on loan in the Championship.

If the deal goes through as expected he will be the sixth Newcastle player to go out on loan today; the other five are likely to be Mitrovic (Anderlecht), Woodman (Aberdeen), Aarons (Hellas Verona – Serie A), Sterry (Crewe), and Saivet (Sivasspor- Turkey).

Jack Colback – on loan to Nottingham Forest

Newcastle have been trying to sell Colback or send him out on loan since last summer, and he is not in Rafa’s first team squad for this season.

The loan move will get his wages (reported to be anywhere between £40K/week and £70K/week) off the wage bill at Newcastle.

So we could have two players coming in – striker Islam Slimani and Sparta Prague’s Slovakian International goalkeeper Martin Dubravka – and six players going out.

8 players involved in Newcastle loan deals today – amazing.

wouldn’t expect forest to be paying all of his wages, maybe paying half so we’d be saving 20-35k (based on Ed’s article)

Dummett is working his way back from injury and played 3 days ago. I am relying on the 2x CD and 2x CDM to provide enough defensively and believe Manquilio offers slightly more going forward. Although I am not a Dummett knocker and have been impressed with his contribution in the opposition boxs.

“7 players involved in Newcastle loan deals today – amazing”

5 out (4 if you don’t count the ginger) 2 in tells its own story

By the way Chronicle reporting Sterry out to Crewe doesn’t that make 6 out now.

Lindi – Fair enough. I just don’t think Manquillo deserves to be in the team any longer. But your point about the short turn around impacting selection is a good one. Would rather see Mbemba today if Dummett can’t go. Save Dummett for sunday.

Thank god, all he ever did was pass sideways and commit unnecessary fouls at totally the wrong time (thinking he was stopping a counter attack, when the player was going nowhere and picking up a needles booking)

Think we’ve got some decent players in; definite upgrade on what we are using. No suprise they are all loans, never any intention of spending money. Guessing the money saved is more than the money spent (fees and wages). I would rather he was just honest and say: “Rather than lowballing and pretending to sign players, then eventually rushing loans in on the last day; we’ve decided to get the loans in early and skip the lies and gameplaying.”
I would like to see Kenedy start in the no.10 position, but Rafa never mentioned that as one of his potential positions (bluffing). If Rafa is true to his cautious form, I suspect we’ll see him as an attacking substitute for Dummett at LB if we’re losing; or defensive substitute for shortest winger if winning. Substitution at 70mins.

Hope Rafa doesn’t intend to play the Horse at no.9 and Slimani at no.10.

    “Substitution at 70mins.”

That’s optimistic, more like 80 mins unless he’s the very first sub which is unlikely as that will probably be whoever’s playing CF.

Chancel you are spot on about Ashley. All this economy with the truth just peeing me off. I would much rather he were up front & tell us how it is. We won’t like it but would just have to accept it. Why say we’ll spend £18/20M & break the transfer record when he certainly had no intention of doing so. It’s obvious he’s like this when he is trying to broker a deal. Accept what I say or i’ll spit my dummy out. No wonder the Club remains unsold . No wonder we don’t bring players in. No wonder we have had so many managers. The Michael Owen deal was 13/14 years ago & he was way past his sell by date when we bought him. What a sham

Off to West Ham is he?
FCB’s Cash from January window in his back pocket.
Even better options Firebug if Mitro deal doesn’t happen Perhaps we are trying to get Dendonker as part of the deal
