Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has been true to form in predicting the result of tomorrow’s game between Newcastle and Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Paul has predicted a 2-0 win for the home side and that will not shock Newcastle fans one little bit.
Merson seems to be biased against Newcastle but we will have to wait and see how we do in London tomorrow and we badly need a win.
Paul Merson – predicts 2-0 defeat for Magpies – that could be a good omen?
Newcastle have won only one league game of four this year and we need to start picking up 3 points a lot more regularly if we are to survive this season in the Premier League.
This is what Merson has written about tomorrow’s game:
“It’s been a bit of a shocker for Newcastle recently on and off the field. They got hardly anything in the window.”
“Islam Slimani came in but he’s injured and can’t play, while on the field they were winning against Burnley before Joselu missed a penalty and Karl Darlow’s own goal handed the visitors a point.”
“I just don’t see anything but a Palace win here.”
“Palace had a bit of a disappointing Deadline Day but that shouldn’t affect them too much. “
“They have been in decent form recently but they do have to be a bit careful.”
“They are still in the relegation battle, as the Arsenal result proved, so they still need to pick up wins consistently.”
Newcastle brought three players in on loan last month – left winger Kenedy, striker Islam Slimani, and goalkeeper Martin Dubravka and sent six players out on loan.
Islam Slimani is only slightly injured as Rafa pointed out yesterday, and he will undergo a fitness test today to see if he can make the squad for tomorrow’s game.
And Joselu missed that penalty in the first half when the score was 0-0, although we really should have won that game on Wednesday night.
But we didn’t and we seem to be better away from home this season.
More than half Newcastle fans think we can win this game tomorrow.

Comment #1while on the field they were winning against Burnley before Joselu missed a penalty
Am I going mad or didn’t we not score until way after the missed penalty?

Comment #3Hic ….. “and Karl Darlow’s own ….belchhhh… goal handed the …..pop….burp…. visitors a point.” …burp…….gaaahhh…
nice one Mers, like Darlow actually turned round and booted the ball into the roof of his own net, tearing through it and driving a hot steak pie into the face of a nine-year old girl in the stands.
“I can’t … Belch…see any…burp…thing…hic….” You can stop right there mate. 🙁
